During the season there are a set amount of time allotted to training including games per week. I have seen enough games and can say the speed of play is slower than top level D1. I am a big proponent of D3 but those are the facts. More time is spent academically in the classroom and Labs than on the field for a very good reason.
But again, you mention "top level D1" while the comparison being made was Manhattan College (bottom-level D1). No one is disputing that UNC or Stanford or even Rutgers could crush Williams or Amherst. But we are talking about Manhattan College.

Bottom line if GA was an elite league each of of the older age groups should be Bracket 1 or at the very least 2.

So even though not highly placed in Jeff cup still comparable to other local GA clubs at those specific age groups.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostI just looked. In NJ, Red is the top flight. All the PDA ECNL teams, MFA, Cedar Stars, STA, and at a few ages a PSA team. What GA team is in the 2nd flight? At the oldest ages, most of those teams are a mix of kids and not necessarily the teams that will play in leagues in the spring.

CSA has their top team in the top flight. Which team is that (CSA Monmouth 2005)? But I can assure you they told the tourney that was their top team at that age. I assume your kid is on the Bergen Team? Just beat the teams on your schedule and complain to your club. 9

I bet more are going this year because Covid has so badly screwed up recruiting, not so much because it's a "top" event
