As stated all of the younger teams played a decent amount of league games and most played 1 or 2 tourneys.
Decent amount? We played 6 over 3 months and 1 tournament in Aug. So no, the younger teams did not get a decent amount. Complete waste!

Better than my kids FC Bucks team - we have had one scrimmage and a few practices this fall. Whole team hasn’t played a game together since last March which was two games. So basically two games and a few practices since last November we are getting bent over! By the time this shut down is over it could be a whole year since the team has had a league game - and we did zero tournaments!

Sorry to hear that because that really sucks. Honestly, looking at many of the clubs in the area where my D has friends, it seemed most really did get a lot of playing in. She has friends on a couple of ECNL and GA teams and all of them played. Might be teams in the other conferences and leagues has more issues with interstate travel. I just dont get why not try harder for more scrimmages with local teams. We are ECNL and it was nice that the coach did not hide from competitive GA edp and USYS teams and really just worked to get games on the schedule whne he could. Our biggest issues were with team consistency, with kids coming in and out of quarantine, in particular as it got into november.

Agree we had a similar experience which was not cool. How hard is it to try and provide a product for the enormous amount of $$$ paid.

It just depends on the club and age. Our younger boys are “pre-ecnl” which is u12 and younger and did the EDP route this year to get games in. Most got 6-9 league games and we played 4 tournaments (although tuckahoe was a mess for a couple this year and one was cut in half and the final was cancelled for most or would have been 5). We practiced July through Mid-December and also did friendlies for a few games. We are doing the Jan-Feb outdoor EDP winter league and then we will play EDP in spring. I doubt we play as many tournaments, but min 3. We are still looking at Jeff Cup in Virginia, but doubtful it happens.

My daughter is U12 and we were happy with our experience this season.
We practiced from August to mid-December.
9 games (granted we played some teams 2x) and 2 friendlies/scrimmages.
              2 tournaments.

                Aug to Thanksgiving for practice
6 games and 4 friendless (3 against our own club A team below and B team on age and above)
                1 tournament

This sounds pretty par for the course. Maybe a drop light but about what most teams got in. Those travel restrictions between neighboring states that kicked in especially late were a killer. My daughter's team had three tournaments canceled within a week prior. We played league games, scrimmages, friendlies and a tournament. Other teams we know played a drop more but many others less.

If you’re not HS age I think that worked out ok for most, it’s the older age groups that got robbed last year and this year started in similar fashion. We’ll see what the Spring holds. If stuff is cancelled we better get a refund. What happens to the $ paid for tourneys that are cancelled does the club keep that as a pure profit???? Should be passed right back to the consumer.

We asked for another tournament or even friendly vs someone local. We kept getting "The club won't let us" and "No one wants to play us". This is an ECNL team and we watched other age groups play in the same tournaments we asked to play in. Complete bullsh*t!

I thought PDA and WCFC held a bunch of scrimmages/friendlies? As well as a few other ECNL teams?

PDA Blue, MFA, and WCFC did a round robin. Cedar Stars was also involved I believe. May have been with PDA White or South. The clubs tried to get additional games in but Covid and SATs made it tough. Several teams at the clubs were quarantined. At the HS ages, hard to fault the clubs. Younger teams should have gotten in a decent amount of league games and one tourney. If the weather stays good enough, I would expect Friendlies in Jan and Feb as well. I have not heard anything on that though.
