I messed up above. My post was on schedule. Meaning No, PDA and MFA have not shut down. Agree on those two as the top 2 clubs over the past 10 years. Hard to compare the two as PDA is arguably the top club in the US. MFA operates in their shadow but does a lot with the players they get. Great example of this is oldest team. PDA Blue has 15 freaks, some of the best players in the country and they actually lost a couple who were top 50 in the country types. That team is sending kids to the best schools and has of course the pipeline to Rutgers and Columbia in full effect. The kids headed to Columbia are top 250 type kids nationally or better than that. They just beat MFA pretty good, and that team has some super nice players. Kids going to Gtown, PSU, etc.and all in like 15 D1 commits. This team will likely win a lot of Games this year. When you measure yourself against PDA Blue, you know where you need to be to win a championship. The other clubs do not compare with putting kids in College as PDA and MFA. Hard to argue that, because the data is available. One year MFA put over 30 Kids into D1 from their oldest group. PDA had 50. The other clubs 5-10 is a great year.

The more they want you the more you get? Have you ever even seen the disbursement allotment for D1 schools? They have 14 scholarships to spread to up to 30 players. If they have a large graduating class they have more to spread around but generally no one gets a full ride. The best scholarship analogy is it's like a bell curve - on one end maybe 1-2 recruits will get 70%+* the bulk fall in the 30-65% range, and a few on the tail end are 25% or less - even none. That's if they're even fully funded. The figures are way worse on the men's side where there's fewer programs (100 less than women's), lower scholarship max (9.9 vs 14 for women) and more international players taking spots.Originally posted by Unregistered View Post

Yes, i have found a lot of people like to say "my kid got a full ride" but the reality is that usually its at best half of the money coming from the sports side. In the end, if the combination of grades and merit gets your college paid for, it is the same thing anyway. But to pretend it is all sports is definitely disingenuous.Comment

Almost no one gets a full athletic ride; combinations sometimes but plenty of middle to upper income soccer families won't qualify for much Financial Aid. First, don't expect parents to be truthful at all especially ones you're not very close to. Some parents will brag about the "full ride" but won't admit it was a combination of different sources. I'd rather brag about merit money but that's me :) Info is between the family and the school so also watch out for clubs who claim their kids got great packages. The club may not know squat, and even if true again it was probably due to FA and merit $ helping to fill in the package not anything on the club's part.Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment

Smart parents and players use soccer to access better colleges. Any $$ is nice, the full is extremely rare. Also, academics are very important. Schools are not making big exceptions these days on academics.
On the other issue, I would say Tenure with Club at the oldest age is similar across the top Clubs. PDA probably has an edge over MFA because they have a couple that have been with them since U8. Other than a few players, most of the kids at both clubs are in their 5th year or more with those clubs.Comment

My d is on the MF Shore 09 team and we already have D1 schools looking at our girls. Stay with your ****ty clubs like CSA, PDA and PSA. MF Shore is the future of soccer in this area. Theres a reason why the parents from Lehigh Valley begged RT to join the team. They knew they weren't getting any decent training with that loser NS at CSA. That guy couldn't hold a candle to RT. He actually asked RT at for a job at MF and was turned down. We let CSA take all the scum. We only want the best.Comment

All lies, first Niko developed all the girls from LVU. The girls left MFA because the training was absolutely awful, so they went to PDA and have excelled tremendously where two of the girls are now on the United States youth national team roster and one of them is ranked number one in the country.The parents will tell you, it was all because of Niko.
