My kid is an older player at FC Stars—I don’t have any dog in the fight when it comes to PDA and Matchfit. The audio that is making the rounds makes it pretty clear that the MF coach is encouraging his players to injure players on the other team. If there were similar comments on tape from the PDA coach, I’m sure it would also be out there. The PDA coach seems to be warning the MF coach that coaching this way is going to get him in trouble.

My kid has played for Stars in ECNL for several years. I can honestly say I have NEVER heard one of her coaches or an opposing coach shout something like this to their players during a game. MF and ECNL should step in here. There’s no place for this in ECNL, or any league for that matter.

You do understand this video has been posted on at least 3 social media pages (that I’ve seen) which each have thousands of followers..it’s not a stretch that people from different states are commenting on it.

All I’m saying is I want to see/hear the unedited version before I pass judgement. If everyone has seen and heard it, why is it that the only version of it that has been released is a tabloid-style hatchet job? If it’s as bad as everyone is saying, let’s see it and hear it in it’s entirety without anyone editing or adding graphics and commentary.

I get why they only posted audio it would be unfair for the kids to get pulled into this. The girl was just playing hard as her coach asked her to do. The disturbing part was the coach's reaction after the contact. I would suggest you stop asking for more proof because I'm sure there are multiple recordings and you're just going to get more of the same. I'm sure that if this wasn't true we would have you whole team posting the original version and crying fake news.

Matchfit/ECNL needs to do something about this guy and act decisively because it could lead to other problems down the road like physical confrontations between parents and between parents and coaches. If Matchfit didn’t know what they let into their club during the onset of the pandemic, it sure does now. That whole crew is toxic.

First, I can’t hear clearly what he says. I definitely hear “Sam, Sam…[cant hear]…harder”.

I would just like to hear what was said by both parties just prior to this and see the play. I’m not saying it was manufactured, just that it’s a very isolated clip that doesn’t give any context.

The ways it’s done in business in the real world today —when an employee does something inappropriate - and is caught they get fired immediately. Then their boss typically gets questioned and potentially fired as well if they turned a blind eye.
For example: a few years ago a coach named S. Cryer went to a club called STA. He had a meltdown at a few games and called his players horrible names and belittled them- in front of many parents, coaches etc. He was fired from STA. You know what then happened- he started his own club and almost the entire team followed him. They struggled the first year and then excelled and one team even made it to nationals. Guess what he did then- he quit on all of them and moved to Bethesda. The only difference between these two men is their name. I could never understand why any parent would want their kid around this person- and yet people I admire would say things like- he’s a great trainer, he’s not for everyone. Bottom line- it’s the parents that are supporting this and until that stops we will keep having a RT and SC.

I hear it very clear. There is no doubt what he said and no doubt of the PDA coach reaction. I don’t need the subtitles. Go watch the full game for yourself, but I approve of PDA not posting it. They are only 11-12 years old and it’s bad enough that you hear her name. I would not want my kids to play any team coached by that guy. Until parents stop accepting this for their daughters nothing will change.
