I saw the other thread on RT and am laughing that he is trying so hard to make this thread (which is mostly factual and absolutely devastating) go away. The truth is that he doesn't know anything about anything soccer related, and will tell uninformed parents whatever they want to hear to get them over to his club and teams. One of the best posts on here talks about how he didn't play past JV in high school, has a very low coaching license, and has no connections at any colleges. Not only that, he's never won anything of substance. In essence, you've got a guy that has never played at a high level, has failed coaching at high school aged soccer, who's had entire teams taken away, who's banned from going back to certain clubs, who according to many many parents of boys and girls that have been on his teams is an all around terrible person who can't train his way out of a paper bag, and can't help your kid get into a good school because he doesn't know any college coaches. To me that means you should stay away if you can.

This can’t be true. It’s not like this thread of observation after observation of this individual can be true. It’s not even over 300 pages long.

all true. we know him and left mfa for all these reasons being true. and he’s a liar on top of everything. he looks like a good coach because he attracts good players because he knows how to convince parents to join. he also only coaches teams that have good players. i would love to see him develop an average team. but he can’t which is why he would never take that type of team on

Ding ding ding. No parent can come on here and claim that RT developed their kid. All he's capable of doing is lying his ass off to successive sets of parents to convince them to bring their already decent kid onto one of his teams. From there it's just a process of churning the roster until "lower end" kids, kids with "problem parents", or kids that leave for their own reasons are gone and have been replaced by kids with suckers for parents. His idea of development is better kids scrimmaging against better kids. Sure, that's a thing but that's not how you actually develop a kid. Without ecnl, there is literally no reason to go to one of his teams.

All true except I would say he more just lets stuff happen around him and his teams sometimes win because of the players he collects like personal trophies (considering he hasn't won any major trophies at recruitable ages). His specialty is recruiting the most athletic, biggest, and strongest kids as early as possible and making them get the ball up the field as fast as possible. That's the only thing he knows about soccer and to him how to win games with young kids. He doesn't know any real tactics and develops zero players. There is a reason he is the only coach emphasizing set pieces at u10 (combined with the only thing he knows kick and run) when all legit coaches are trying to actually teach their kids how to actually play the game.

He's the biggest fraud in NJ soccer and I can't believe he's a technical director at a big club. What a clear example of falling upwards as well as lying your way to the top.
