Is this a serious question - they were let in because they are part of PDA and PDA is the ECNL. They are one of the most powerful clubs in the ECNL and whoever they want in gets in conversely if they don’t want you in you are never getting in. Basically PDA = ECNL.

With SJ being such a small market for girls soccer why can't these 2 clubs just work out a partnership? PDA South has ECNL which SJEB wants and SJEB has the players that PDA South wants. So make competitive ECNL teams (09s-07s not doing so hot so far) why not have a partnership that moves the best players into ECNL or at least give them the option? Something like what MF does with Surf and MF Shore. After a decade of trying SJEB has to know they won't get in.

I am by no means a fan of SJEB BUT they do produce talent instead of just plucking it off other teams. Having had a kid go through both I can say SJEB does a better job of training and other than PDA Souths u18/19 team SJEB Rush would win out.

Anyway this thought of a partnership would be dependent on 2 things. First would be that both clubs have the best interest at heart for the players and second both can swallow their own pride. Best 16-18 got to ECNL, next 16-18 go to GA, next ECRL then EDP. Each club would keep the name AND as a benefit coaches could move between clubs for training, PDAs single coach/trainer system doesn't work so well. Point was that SJ doesn't have the numbers to compete with multiple clubs on a national level between ECNL, GA and USYS. SJ clubs need to start putting the players first and band together not fight over the little talent we have.

As for the Rush merger it was more of a life line for SJ Rush as they no longer even have a program at Gloucester. Rush was on borrowed time anyway with the merger with Rage the year before. The win for SJEB was the Rush tag and access to Rush National.

PDA doesn’t have it like that. The process of getting in is on merit, so if you aren’t in continue to do better. Only loser clubs think they aren’t getting a fair shake to get in. It’s not about 1 team but a entire club. If you want your club in the ECNL, have them apply. I’m sure they look for history of developing players ( backed by data) , quality of coaches ( backed by licenses), and facility ( w/ growth potential). People always bash clubs in the ECNL- PDA South, FC Delco , Bucks etc but it’s not like other clubs are blowing them out and/or that much better if better at all. A team or 2 might be better then some ECNL Clubs but as a whole your club stinks!

SJEB has been trying to get into ECNL for a decade. At any age group SJEB would be at worst middle of the pack in the North Atlantic with most age groups competing for top 3. BUT for whatever reason ECNL has not or will not allow them in.

And they never will. SJEB has taken advantage of SJ. The poor reputation they have and the poss success of players that move on to college all is not equivalent to how GOOD THEY THINK ARE or claim. Half of its Alumni list are players that left club after small stints (less then a year) and didn’t finish thru U18. Some on list have no history even at the club. Just lies they use to market. Sad

Is this John Jenks or one of the other hot shot trainers down South? This is absurd on its face. The South ECNL teams as currently constituted would struggle with top EDP teams at best. Maybe better over time but don't act like the "performance and training" had anything to do with PDA South getting ECNL.

Do they schedule referees for games because it was always a question when my oldest was funding the new Turf facility with her yearly tuition (certainly didn't go to quality training or oversight from PDA North/Mgt.)
