Has anyone experimented with automatic cameras to film games such as Veo or Trace?
Just wondering if its worth it and which is best
Used Trace at a tournament 2 years ago. Wasn't particularly happy with the video quality. It's a high-def 360 camera, but because it produces a video that tries to track the ball, the output ends up being very low-resolution. Also, at least 2 years ago the AI used to track the ball and the play wasn't great, so it ends up with the ball out of frame for a significant amount fo time, even worse if there are other balls or games in view (like at a tournament; not as much of an issue if at an isolated field). Of course, maybe things have improved over 2 years, but that was my impression.
That said, the player stats on Trace were pretty cool since all players wear a sensor and that stuff is pretty accurate.
We have a group Veo subscription. $50 bucks per kid. Decent quality considering it's all done without human intervention once the filming starts. Great to be able to watch games back.

Pooling resources is a great idea for teams, assuming most want to pony up the bucks. Dumb to have multiple parents taping at games.
