Grassroots clubs that develop players better than RB are not easy to find. More than the club thought it has to do with the coaching. Reason RB is perceived to be good is because they hand pick players who have the resources to participate in their camps or have some type of partnership with them. Rarely is the case that they will identify a player by going to a random game and help them develop which the true measure of a club. Anyone that has ever taught anything knows that it’s a hundred times easier to kids that have intrinsic motivation than those that do not. And don’t be fooled all professional academies are set up as marketing and increasing their fan base. If not look at how many people who know how the sport should be played end up at the stadium watching slow motions games and wonder why on earth am I supporting this club that is terrible at the sport. But that’s the power of marketing and branding these clubs do.

I am purposely not calling out clubs as the turnover rates in the field is so common and as I stated it’s more the coach than the club that makes it better or just as good.

Well said. In terms of development, right now it is probably Philadelphia Union, as they have mane players playing in youth national teams and I believe recently beat some big European clubs in a tournament. That is why it is better for Red Bull to try and make a relationship with a club like FA, who has some quality players, before they eventually look elsewhere.

My kid is one if those "athletes," but I have been very happy with his development as a player at RB, much moreso than at his previous club, an mls next program.

Here we go again with the FA references smdh. FYI, Red Bulls love the new kid which is the next best thing until the next new kid comes through. This happens all year long and it creates a real miserable environment for all the kids. I also agree Union seems to get it, they have had more home grown players signed to pro contracts than the Red Bulls.

not the op either. But I think this sentence leave a lot to interpretation “If they put their best players they would demolish FA like they did at Tuckahoe. RB doesn't care about results..”

Why make false claims?? The Union have had 21 homegrown players signed to pro contracts. Red Bull have had 31. 21 is not greater than 31. A 30 second google search found the information to prove it. Philadelphia was just ranked the number 1 youth Academy for the first time jumping over FC Dallas who has been consistently number 1. Red Bull was ranked 6th. It changes year to year. Both academies are great and we are lucky to have both so close by. Saying Red Bull love the new kid until the next new kid comes through could be said about Philly as well. It could also be said about every MLS Next club. Please don’t just through false claims out there.

                            Looks like RB/CSA was a 3-2 win and a 2-2 tie.
