Real is an MLS Next club. Why are they getting crushed by a small club not in MLS Next? The answer always seems to be: wait til next year.

Those Liverpool players made a big difference, didn't they? Real scored off a deflected shot early when they had the wind at their back and that was it. Rarely got past midfield in the 2nd half.

It’s not about the kids leaving FA to join weaker teams it’s about the top kids wanting to play against top level competition in the highest league possible at that age. And unfortunately as good as the FA team currently is they cannot play in the highest league. It’s out of their control. So therefore kids will ultimately leave so they can keep playing against the redbulls and others…

Last season everyone said FA would play no competition this season and all would leave yet they played all the top teams and done very well.

Most of the teams they have also completely dominated on the score line all of which are Pre MLS clubs and about to play in this “highest league” which separates them from bad teams like FA.

People also keep saying these teams will get better kids eventually but I honestly don’t know where they’re coming from kids just don’t pop out and play 2011.

Please justify why players are going to any of the above teams? RedBulls & Philly is the end goal but besides them because FA are also very bad so obviously kids wouldn’t make these clubs anyways. BUT if FA want to play RedBulls, Philly or NYCFC next season I’m sure it’s one phone call away so I wouldn’t worry about leagues or wasting a long drive to these clubs above to roll them almost double figures.

Just for the records my son plays Pre ECNL so I don’t care about all the BS but too many trolls not giving this team respect for their achievements.

Why would a player leave a great team to go to a lesser team just to play in a league. There are many more opportunities like soccer tournaments, like Delco, Supercopa and state cups to play in. If you go to a lesser team, you can play in MLS Next but you will not do well in those other tournaments. Why would anyone want that? Is MLS Next really that important?

2010 FA black team is in 4th place in their USYS league this fall. The state cup finals are the 1-4 teams, in that same USYS conference…. Yay, you get to play the same 4 teams twice and celebrate being champions in a tournament nobody plays at u13! EDP tournaments have no real competition at U13+. Supercopa stops at U12. FC Delco tournament may be decent, but guess what, you won’t play their own best teams because they don’t play it. This is what the 2011 team has to look forward to next year. This isn’t bashing FA, its just stating the facts. Yes, playing Ecnl and MLS Next matters if you actually want your kid to develop and actually get exposure. Nobody is getting scouted or offered a scholarship because when they were 11 they won the NJ State Cup and went to Supercopa and lost. Enjoy this last year and then find a real program.

I will preface this by saying I do not agree with how the US Soccer system is currently operating, but it is in fact how it is. I think I can justify some things though. I agree Red Bulls Or Philly Union or NYCFC would be the goal.

FA could be the #1 team in the country and you still won’t be allowed to sit at the adult table next year. You will be stuck at the kids table. The MLS teams will move into their league and never play you again other than a scrimmage when no one is watching. All of the ECNL teams will do the same. They will not play you in league play ever again. They will not play you in tournaments ever again. Are you a better team. Yes, clearly you are at 9v9. Does it matter? No, clearly it doesn’t matter at all.

The MLS Next games are all required to be recorded and video is available to and sent/uploaded to the college scouts that watch and follow and scout all of the games. I think ECNL is similar. FA will be stuck playing the few leftovers in EDP and going to tournaments to find the other good teams left not in the “important leagues”. On top of that all of the MLS Next clubs will be going to tournaments involving only other MLS Next clubs throughout the country where all of the top college/universities coaches attend. The the vast majority of kids who will not make it pro, the college route is the end game. The best exposure is in the league that the colleges pay attention to and scout/recruit. EDP and EDP showcases are no longer of interest to the majority of colleges.

Thinking you have a better chance of being scouted because of a badge on your shirt says a lot about you as a person! If your kid is mediocre on a mediocre mls next team, guess what he is mediocre!! Outside the actual mls teams none of the mls next teams would win that EDP 2010 flight, that’s tells you a lot about the league you so desperately want to play in for the badge so you can boast on talking soccer!

It seems you forgot that FA has former Bloomfield players and they know how to kill Liverpool...they have done it many times before.

Did they play many times? Wasn’t Bloomfield always playing in low flights? Not a FA/Liverpool/Real/Bloomfield parent here but who really cares about Liverpool or Bloomfield at all. They keep being mentioned. Neither team were ever very good and neither team exist anymore. They don’t exist for a reason. One played park the bus. One played long ball. Both awful. FA added 2 of those Bloomfield kids and another one 1 went to Red Bull. The one Bloomfield kid is the best one on FA now and should be at Red Bull, and the other one may be the worst player on the FA team. The Red Bull player will most likely be cut from Red Bull this year so maybe he ends up at FA next year and they get even better. Does it really matter? It’s a completely different game next year for 11v11 compared to 9v9.

Kids winning national championships at u16 in any level of league will get a look! Kids finishing 6th in any league won’t, that’s literally how it works!!

How is ECNL even in this conversation. It’s terrible on the boys side, results are all over the place, half of the teams wouldn’t compete in flight 2 and 3 of EDP. It’s amazing what a badge and some good marketing does to naive people.

You are correct, winning a u16 national championship at any level will get a look. That is a long time from now for the u12 team and FA isn’t winning crap currently at u14,u15,u16,etc. If FA was so great at developing talent, why are this teams horrendous?

As the FA teams get older, they will slowly deteriorate as kids continue to leave and they play crappy competition. The 2010 team was proven and winning everything 12-18 months ago. Then it started falling apart. Winning a state cup that nobody plays in is not proving anything
