As someone who was just watching no kid playing in the game. FA had more opportunities during regulation then CSA. But Csa missing two PK during regulation was shocking (both were wide). Neither team played great soccer can say I never saw 3 or 4 passes connected all game. Lots of long balls I mean CSA goalie first punt bounced almost at FA 6 yard line. But give FA credit being down 2-0 with 8 minutes left in the game and to come back and tie the game. Then In PK CSA missed another 3 Pk insane. CSA should have won but FA was the better team I think.

In the finals FA will win but won't be surprised if it's not as easy as people think. Two different styles Real will move the ball around and pass like crazy. FA is just big kids little field take huge shots etc..FA wins tomorrow but in 2 more season on 11v11 field Real style will kill them.

But can see it going two ways FA 6 Real 0 or FA 3 Real 2

No worries there, I don’t expect many from this FA team to stick around.

And why not? So they can join weaker teams? Only Red Bulls are better and they look all set.

Ref did his best to help CSA by giving them two non-existent PKs during regulation, which they missed. Then they were up 2-0 with 8 minutes left, but FA came back and tied. Then in the shootout, FA's GK made two saves, CSA's made one. But regardless of scores, FA had 9 teams in the State Cup semifinals across all age groups. No club comes close to that. I think there is one with 3 teams. Pretty clear which club does the best job at developing young players in this state.

I agree 1st PK should not have been called. 2nd PK was correct call. Clear foul.

Sincere question - don't most look outside of USYS once hitting U13? Look to join ECNL, etc?

It is very impressive, BUT no girls or boys teams from ECNL, ECRL or MLS Next u13 and older actually participate with their “A” teams.. they aren’t allowed. The boys side u13 teams are all USYS. Thats not to say winning isn’t an accomplishment, but its not against the best teams in the state.

It’s not about the kids leaving FA to join weaker teams it’s about the top kids wanting to play against top level competition in the highest league possible at that age. And unfortunately as good as the FA team currently is they cannot play in the highest league. It’s out of their control. So therefore kids will ultimately leave so they can keep playing against the redbulls and others…

Real has 3 former players from Liverpool, they know how to win fa. They did it before.

Maybe the highest league needs to take the best teams, not random teams that happened to be in the old league. FA is already beating all the "others". So break up a winning team just so you can play the RBs twice a year? If a kid is so good that he is professional material, he will eventually join RB or Philly Union or NYCFC no matter where he plays now. But those kids are very few and far between. Rest will play in college if they so choose, with no need to switch clubs now.

No one is saying the system is perfect. Actually the system sucks.
but you have to deal with what’s available and therefore the clubs that aren’t accepted in the highest league will ultimately break a part.
as great as a team FA is today the individual kids play level will start to diminish if they play in a lower level league against sub par teams to there current ability. Although they are winning and beating most teams even redbulls that will change in time. So again, unfortunately it will be in there best interest to move on a find a team and system that works for them so they can compete in the MLSnext league.

My kid is moving on to MLS Next . No way he is staying at a club that does not have MLS Next because the team is good. In fact I have moved him from one MLS Next club to another because the other club recruited him and it was a good fit for him. If Union, Red Bulls or NYCFC comes calling and it’s a good fit for him, the offer will be considered . You have to play with and against the best to have a chance . I am sorry I don’t see that happening with EDP or any other league for boys. I believe competition is everything any yes they only play Red Bulls twice per year but every MLS Next Club is heading to California in December for MLS NEXT fest which is exposer you wouldn’t be available at a club that does not have mls next. Happy World Cup friends.

Additionally the MLS Next teams go to Dallas in June and play the best teams nationally. They train 4 days a week and what also occurs, but isn’t posted anywhere, is the 10-15 friendly games you also play against other MLS Next teams (league season is 22-24 games sept-june). One of the big draws of an FA is the number of games-playing multiple leagues u12 and under, but it goes away u13 and older. They are playing 7/8 games a season just like EDP and 1-2 games is against their own silver team… FA is a great u12 and under club, but you have to move after that
