Instead, they now start as early as U9 (Philly Union has a 2014 team), U10, U11 etc.
They go around, disturb local teams and leagues at young age by grabbing their best kids, creating fake bubble competition like Acela, NEAL, MLS Next and then spitting those same kids out a year or two after and grabbing the next shiny new toy.
so if they don't try to be the best at those young ages and they also don't really develop the kids and keep moving on to better and stronger kids, why bother?
None of the MLS clubs develop youth players which is pretty sad. 6 months out they get rid of the kids they don't like. I am sure half those RB kids will be told they won't be needed by the spring.

I think we are forgetting the two most important things for kids this young; is your kid happy? Is your kid playing? If the answer to either or both is no, then who gives sh!t what team they are on…. Start with finding a team that provides a yes to those first two questions and then after that you need to know what their goals are and try to navigate reality. Every kid is different and timing will vary, but if the their goal is to play in college at a minimum, they will need to find a home that maximizes play time and exposure once they hit u15/u16. College coaches attend showcases to maximize their time. That starts with MLS Next at the top, then ECNL and then everything else. There is too much focus on “The best” u11, u12, etc team when you need to focused on getting you kid in the best position years from now.

        Finally some sensible comments!!!
totally agree.. focus on your kids development instead of spending your valuable time on analyzing other kids/teams at this age

Anyone else wish people would post links to the games so we could all be speaking on the same things, how many people actually saw the RB v FA game?

Lol!! It’s amazing how noisy some people are! At times they are interested in other teams more than their very own.

Nothing wrong with asking about the state cup, brackets are predetermined. Good to know how they will shape up !

I would appreciate the non pro teams more if they didn't charge fees. That's the difference between the USA and the rest of the world. Here, the only free clubs are the MLS ones. In other countries, the town teams ARE pro teams.

STA lost to Bergen, the score was either 7 or 8 nil. The game was over in the first half. Bergen got 2 goals in the first 10 minutes and the game was pretty much over after those two goals.

FA or CSA will have an easy final- the bracket set up for this year was a joke.

Bracket was almost completely split in half. North jersey in one side and central and south jersey in the other side. Union and Bridgewater were only 2 northern teams on the one half of the bracket.

FA's record so far this season in all competitions is: 18 wins, 1 tie, 1 loss (to RB in EDP Cup final). Not bad for a "local team". But forget FA. The main point is there are clubs out there that do a great job developing young players but are not in MLS Next. Kids just want to be happy and enjoy playing this great sport to the best of their abilities.
