did those easy goals come late in the game when they were down 5 already?
That's exactly what happened. No excuses. Redbulls where far superior.

Study the tape and analyze how they got scored on so easily and now you know how to beat them.

Redbulls barely made it out of their group, tying Lower Merion. FA beat them 6-1 in Acela. Villanova got moved up and didn't belong, replacing dropped out NYCFC team. They only went to the final by goal differential and playing an easier team in the morning. They also brought several kids from the other team for support.
FA had the harder group but didn't perform as strong in the final. But let's be honest, shouldn't Redbulls win, considering they are an MLS club?
Let's see how they do against each other in Acela.

Different teams play different styles and match up differently to a teams strengths and weakness. The red bulls had no problem with Villanova, Miami Shores and FA. All very easy wins. They struggled with Lower Merion who play with a lot of speed and through balls. Maybe more teams should attack Red Bulls on the wings with speed and see if their outside mids and full backs struggle like they did vs Lower Merion.

Also, that "harder" team that FA played in the morning also only tied in their consolation match vs Lower Merion. So maybe Red Bulls group wasnt any easier. just different.

yes, A team red bulls should never lose to a team like FA, who are a good local team, but that's about it. FA is a lucky long ball team. Don't think that FA in Acela will get to play the A team though.

Should Philly Union lose to FA twice?

What team does your son play on, calling FA a "good local" team? If he is on Redbulls A team, congrats. If he is on one of the other MLS or MLS Next teams that constantly underperform, good luck. Cuts are coming soon. NYCFC too scared to play high-level competition.
Did you watch any of the Philly Union games this weekend? Nothing but punting. Oh and has anyone mentioned the NY Redbulls B team yet and their performance this weekend? Any comments on that?

Something is wrong with US soccer if you cannot give credit to high performing "local teams" such as FA, Lower Merion, etc. being able to hang or outperform those fancy academies.

The only thing this result shows is that the morning team could have potentially beat or tied the Redbulls as well, and that the Redbulls are not untouchable or some magical team. They might just have a higher amount of strong players combined between their 2 teams than other teams.

There are 11 years old kids. At the end when matters the Philly Union will be a light years ahead of everyone, producing a professional players playing overseas or MSL. End of story.

FA is a good team, but it won’t matter in another year. Knock it all you want, but the best teams will be playing in MLS Next and FA will never compete with them.

They lost twice to FA? That’s bad

Once At U11 and once u12? That’s understandable, they are litttle kids. How does FA do against Philly Union at u14, u15? U17, u19?

Now let me ask you this: why do clubs like Philly Union, RB, NYCFC not leave the youth development to the local clubs then and once it comes to U14, 15, etc. they can go around and pick the best kids for their MLS teams. Instead, they now start as early as U9 (Philly Union has a 2014 team), U10, U11 etc.
They go around, disturb local teams and leagues at young age by grabbing their best kids, creating fake bubble competition like Acela, NEAL, MLS Next and then spitting those same kids out a year or two after and grabbing the next shiny new toy.
so if they don't try to be the best at those young ages and they also don't really develop the kids and keep moving on to better and stronger kids, why bother?
