Agreed what’s the point of going there if you are going to play in a low flight. If you are playing in a top flight, where the best teams gather and compete- I get that. But traveling all of that just to play barely any competitive teams is a waste of time. If you want to beat someone down, go play rec or local travel teams. I hope a NJ team wins one of the lower flights just to see them act as if they won the tournament. No sorry you got a medal just like you would and played lower level teams then you would have at SoFive, the Coliseum, Ironpeak, or even at Metuchen Sportsplex!

Not a lot of interest in signing up to play for far off tournaments when there are plenty of teams to play here, that's the issue with some of these teams going to play for points and marketing, not focusing on just developing via play.

It's unfortunate that not every kid and parent is on a team they enjoy traveling and playing with. I'm sorry if you and your child don't have that as I know it is rare. There are teams who find soccer and team bonding fun and enjoy doing something different. Sad to see so much cynicism.

Point 1: - I agree, to some extent - Union SC & Liverpool Central have been obsessed with GotSoccer points since U8. No surprise that these teams would be all in to try & get flight GotSoccer points at all costs.
Point 2: I agree 100% Especially when you can play equal or better competition at the FC Europa Turf Cup (https://events.gotsport.com/events/t...&eventid=84985) and EDP Spring Classic.
Point 3&4: I'm not sure who wants to brag that they "won the tournament" when they really didn't more, the club Tik Tok or IG admin or the kid's parent that runs their pages. lol

Pretty sure you can enjoy playing and traveling with your team while recognizing a money grab when you see it. To each their own, you like spending time in the car/hotel with your team, we enjoy playing soccer with ours...pretty sure we can get the same off field experience in the metro area while playing quality local teams.

Other areas have to travel to get good games, we are in a dense talent rich area so the need to travel is less than other areas with less quality competition.

It was futboltech being accepted that showed you the exclusivity of the tournament…. Not the fact there are 9 flights of teams at u11? There are 74 teams for the u11 brackets. 76 teams at u12, 94 teams at u13 with 12 flights. U14 has 104 teams and 13 flights. Jefferson Cup was never an exclusive tournament, it’s just a big, fun tournament that lots of teams go to. It’s a big preseason tournament. North east teams are just coming out of winter training and not playing their best. The big EXCLUSIVE tournaments happen much later in the season.if you fill out your paperwork correctly anyone can go to Jeff cup and play in the 12th flight.

There's no such thing as an exclusive tournament. Even the supercopa is a joke. The only real legit tournaments and MLS next tournaments are the real deal.
