I have to agree on the field conditions. The field is sloped, too small for 9v9 (is it 7v7? Can anyone confirm?) and overall in bad shape. Aside from that, Liverpool seemed to have a great game while FA didn't play their best. Liverpool took and finished the chances they got while FA didn't. It was fun to watch and competitive and several parents from both teams know each other and are friendly with each other, no issues really. Everyone on here tries to make it look so dramatic while it was very unspectacular.

The field they used yesterday is just under 65 yards x 45 yards. A 9v9 field size should be 70x50, while a 7v7 field size is 65x45. Eagles Landing day camp fields they used are for 7v7 games.

It’s funny how last season opposing teams would show up to FA field a find out at that minute they were playing 7v7 on. 9v9 field. Now they are complaining about another team’s field?

it used to be called gamesmanship when a club would leave the grass a little long etc. now we get full on missives of how it is unfair?

only from the offices of Florham Park do we get this type of propaganda. I would suggest FA to hire a lawyer on this and fight it.

RB North 4 - Bloomfield 3. Strange game. Red Bulls dominated possession and play mostly, but got caught out pushing everyone forward and gave up two goals that way. Tack on one more from a free kick for Bloomfield. Red Bulls were able to find room playing through to the middle and then the wing, since Bloomfield's left side was always open and exposed.

Bloomfield, not surprisingly, is another pure kick and run team. They have one quite fast and talented striker, and one boy that can definitely kick the ball very far from the back. Keeping to the theme, Bloomfield is also the type of team that shoots from kickoff, even at 9-a-side (am looking forward to Bloomfield continuing that tactic next year at 11-a-side). Bloomfield kids were nice and tried hard by following the never-ending stream of shouted instructions from their coaches, such as "try play 3" and "never do that again." Bloomfield coaches were loud and disrespectful, though to their credit, instead of putting down their own players, the coaches kept the disrespect aimed at the ref while also finding time to disparage the 9 and 10-year olds on the opposing team. Bloomfield parents must put up with this because they have a very successful town team. Bloomfield itself, is also a very fine town with nice parks and restaurants.

I too was at the game (to watch Red Bull) and although I agree with some of this post not all of it is true.

Red Bull maintained way more possession.
Red Bulls did have some success on the sides.
Bloomfield did kick the ball a lot.
Bloomfield coaches do yell a lot.
Bloomfield does have some talented players.

The coaches were not disrespectful...yes they yell a lot but there is nothing negative about it.

Overall, I think Red Bull is actually lucky to get away with the win. The Red Bull keeper passed the ball to the Bloomfield forward twice and he had point blank shots that he missed. Bloomfield also had two breakaways that they missed. Bloomfield's last two goals were the nicest goals of the game. Red Bull's also got a penalty kick that was questionable. It did not look like a penalty to me.

You had an established academy versus a first time flight one town team. You would think this score should have been 10-0 Red Bull. I give credit where credit is due. Bloomfield just needs to pass and move more. They have the heart and their players seem to have skill but they do not play pretty. I give them credit.

Not to justify or to make excuses, not sure how they even practice on that field. Field is horrible, not even. 1 random shot, a decent goal from a corner and 1 was just pure luck. They celebrated like they won the World Cup. No more team names.

it is just one game that FA lost.. stop finding excuses as it is not the end of the world.. if you believe in the team and coaching then you will come back stronger..

I wasn’t at the game. I just looked at google maps. You can measure the fields there. Not very complicated.

Penalty could've gone either way since red bullls don't usually get those calls, but the tackle was feet not ball. You could hear (and see) the contact but it wasn't visible from the coaches' point of view since the contact happened on the opposite side. Prettt surprised to get the call. The disrespectful comment comes mostly from coaches saying negative things about the other team (red bulls kids) so that the kid can hear it. Yell and complain all you want, but don't talk to the other players.

Yes those two Bloomfield goals were nice, and Red Bulls might learn to cover so that doesn't happen so often. No team in this league is unbeatable, much less the Red Bulls, who have already lost. The idea that Red Bulls are automatically supposed to be dominant is a myth at this age, and that has played out in previous u11 preacademy years.

Every team also misses point blank shots, like the two sitters Bloomfield had, and the maybe 3 or 4 that should've gone in for Red Bulls. Bloomfield was good, but they lost fairly. Also, the "established academy" is pretty subjective, since every year there is a lot of player turnover, but yes, in terms of coaching and facilities and philosophy they are established and Bloomfield, as noted, is a good team that should do quite well this year.

Google maps is not updated (could be years old) The fields were lined not long before the game!
