The coaches drive those behaviors with their players and parent base. If coaches realized that they are role models and they are shaping the behavior of the kids they train they wouldn't keep acting like animals getting yellow cards game after game and enabling the parents to act like lunatics on the sidelines. We know what clubs create a respectful engaging enviroment for their players and what club is lead by a poor role model of a coach and a posse of manerless men.

When winning at any cost is their objective you will continue to find these types of behaviors in youth soccer. Thankfully when MLS next starts the coaches that don't belong coaching young players will be very far away to make any noise and will be forgotten.

there are ways to avoid this ... stop talking about ranking and focus on player development.. stop debating about wining/rankings in every other post.. how many of us really can stop worrying about ranking or winning of any team??? I will not be surprised if the next post will be about predictions about next weekends tournaments...

You do you, I want to know where my kids team stands. It hardly means I'm unconcerned with his training and development.

Why do so many people suddenly hate ranking our kids? Eliminating entrance exams, SAT's, gifted and talented programs?

I hate participation trophies even more than teams that do parent tunnels after the game.

I honestly like a good mix, rankings, hear about how specific team plays or trains. I don’t like the retaliation, calling out kids names. We need to have better sportsmanship. Our kids learn from us.

Some people don’t know how to carry a conversation here. Plus some others like to assume they know everything about everything. I’m all for my kid’s development and yours as well. My kid won’t get better if yours doesn’t. There needs the competition! we don’t need to make snarky comments well knowing some one else will retaliate.

It starts with the coaching staff, they are here to be role models for the kids. Parent and player behavior are reflection of the coach plain and simple. When you have classless behaviors on the sideline from parents or on this forum is a reflection of what the coach allows.

2011 Boys GotSoccer and YSR rankings have been updated through the EDP Kickoff.
Teams that appear in the both Top 10 rankings:

The FA Black, Union SC, CSA Bergen, Liv Central, SJEB

GotSoccer: You can see how doing well in a tournament that uses GS vaults a team up their rankings.
Some of these points also came from playing 9v9 last year in a GS league or tournament.
We will see if the any score report changes from the Gotsoccer move to Gotsport by many NJ leagues impacts the rankings.
We do have Lou Ramos and other Labor Day events that will add to the top heavy points total.

YSR takes into account strength of opponent and game result matching the algorythym probability of outcome.
As you can see YSR is also prone to the "summer select" type team getting a high rank.

I don’t have a horse in this race but it’s hysterical to think a parent from FA suggesting that another club is hiding from a bunch of clowns from FA is laughable. Any parent that thinks U11 teams hide is ridiculous
1st Town teams do not have to promote the club to bring in revenue. I could be wrong but Union is a volunteer coaching and families pay $500-1000 max
FA $3k per kid and paid coaches with the need to Win so they can promote the club and take in more revenue. I bet Union and other clubs in the area think it’s funny you and your band of idiots pay all that money and are worried about la town team. I’ve watched both clubs play and honestly Union plays the game right for u11 and setting up each of the boys to play quality football into the next level. FA plays US kickball high press.. ugly style. They have some good players but will learn a style only to win in the u10-12 top flight EDP after that it’s over.
Injuries will add up and most kids will lose the passion for the game…why? crazy parents pushed them to hard, it’s a bunch rich privileged w no edge or grit to call their own.All by making them think they are good enough to play at a higher level then EDP. Relax FA parents your kids need you to chill and let the game become Beautiful unlike your behavior on and off the pitch
btw My boys have played at every level and I showed my oldest 25 yrs old this thread it’s laughable and shameful.

Highly doubt a FA parent wrote anything regarding Union lol
The narrative that Union is a town team is laughable at this point. A town team is a team comprised of kids from that town. 75 percent of the kids from the Union team are not from Union at all. Union trains and plays more frequently then the academy teams but that is because they have a competent parent coach which saves them some money. They are still paying 1,000 plus lots of tournament add on costs, bringing their total on par with all the other academies they compete with.

NJ Youth Soccer State Cup 2011 Boys Bracket: Round of 32 Single Elimination - National Champonship Series
EDP flights Premier I and Premier II teams qualify for this group. It looks like teams were paired geographically.
These are interesting matchups with some interesting second round possibilities.
Maybe The FA Black and CSA Bergen should have gotten the bye, but they could neet in the final
Kudos the NJ Youth Soccer for arranging this FA Cup type competition.
