They can pitch 10 tournaments per season but they will play the lowest level of competition in the area by the time they are U12. Although they have been doing for the last year hiding away from the big boys in the top 2011 flight to collect got soccer points. Pretty genius move if you ask me too bad it's not a pay for play club because that would have been a great business model...

Unfortunately for Union you have to meet many requirements and I’m going to go out on a limb and say they won’t let a self/proclaimed, town team in.

Free coaching = 0
Team registration = $700
Fields =0
Union Club insur =500
so plenty of left over money for tournaments but most importantly
Being #1 state = Priceless

email from someone I know who played during the winter this past year at Union….
“Our program runs all year round , winter season this year is outdoors , usually combo of both , our teams are trained by pro trainers , we have 4 college coaches on the staff , our main focus is player development , we know if we do that the wins take care of themselves , We have several state champions , we participate in the super y over the summer , cost for the winter is 150 , spring 325 , summer 200 and fall 325 , teams do fundraising to offset the costs but not mandatory , tournaments
Some teams play in two leagues at the same time for more games , any questions feel free “

The ECNL is a quality league that a ton of kids get recruited from for solid ncaa programs, even if some are the B teams. You have to consider the A teams are in MLS next and getting recruited by big time colleges. Also keep in mind if your kid goes to a HS like Delbarton or Pingry and the choose to play HS instead of MLS (assuming they are granted permission from club) then they are put on the ECNL team for the remainder of fall and winter.
the St. Benedict’s national championship team players are ECNL players for a time since CSA is the default club program. And that St. B’s team beat some top MLS U19 teams.
The teams that you mentioned PDA, STA and two CSA teams are in the soccer wire top 100 clubs in the country and at that level they rank based on performance across all age groups and leagues.
