August 1, our sons are now U11. With that comes the gotsoccer 2011 NJ rankings:

    https://home.gotsoccer.com/rankings/...s=1&hl=1231493

Obviously the first rankings are a mix of teams playing up at 9v9 last year and any events that received published gotsoccer points. There are several August tournaments that will award points.

FutbolTech, Real Jersey Pre-MLS, SJEB Red, STA-MUSC, The FA Black, and Union Selecao are among the early teams applied to the EDP Fall Kickoff.

YSR has also updated their 2011B rankings:

Your favorite, the JFF team will also be monitoring.

Lots of movement and changes going into U11 for this group.
Good luck to all this Fall.

        This begs the question;

Will JFF continue with independent rankings or will we be strictly adhering to one of these two rankings.

It will definitely cut down on the accusations of bias.

The got soccer rankings are not respected by anyone. Total garbage. The youth soccer rankings are the best you will get.

When U12 starts all of these rankings go out the window. Once the better teams start their new leagues I.e. ECNL, MLS next etc. the EDP teams become the B or C teams.

Agreed. However, both rankings have some issues.

Got soccer rankings is missing lots of games (eg., mls next), and ranking can only improve with playing more. But, you will no go high in the rankings unless you do well in big tournaments.

YSR is also missing some important games like USCS regional and nationals and mls next nationals. These are key results for ranking teams from different states.

Some of these may not be an issue younger ages.

USL started an Academy League which will compete with ECNL for the 2nd most desirable league behind the MLS next league. That league lists 4 teams from NJ in the northeast division.

Cedar Stars Academy (not sure if Bergen/Monmouth or a different branch)
                      Ironbound SC (Red Bulls)
                      Morris Elite
                      FC Copa

I’m a little confused, do These clubs just compete against each other the whole entire time ? And are the academies free like Red Bull’s would be if they kids are able to get in ? Thank you.

Only the MLS academies are free because their professional clubs absorb the cost of the youth academies... those are NY Red Bull, New York FC and Philadelphia Union locally. The other academies in the MLS next league still cost money.

CSA Bergen is in the Northeast division of MLS Next League. Their division consists of:

CSA Bergen (NJ), New York City FC (NY), BW Gotschee Academy (NY), Met Oval (NY), FC Westchester (NY), New York Soccer Club (NY), Black Watch Premier (NY), Beachside SC (CT), Oakwood SC (CT), Bayside (RI), New England Revolution (MA), NEFC (MA), Valeo FC (MA), FC Boston Bolts (MA), Seacoast United (NH)

NY Red Bull, PDA, CSA Monmouth, Real Jersey FC, TSF Academy are all in the Mid Atlantic division which consists of:

NY Red Bull (NJ), PDA(NJ), CSA Monmouth(NJ), Real Jersey FC(NJ), TSF Academy(NJ), Philadelphia Union (PA), FC Delco (PA), PA Classics (PA), Baltimore Armour (MD), Bethesda SC (MD), Achilles FC (MD), Alexandria SA (VA), Springfield SYC (VA) and DC United (DC) at older ages.

Union better cash in that fake #1 ranking while they can and recruit some more players after their best players leave because that ranking won't last past the fall lolololol

ECNL and MLS Next require a lot more travel then you can ever imagine right now. You can go anywhere from Mass. to DC. You have to put aside 2500 a year just for travel, hotels and meals. Don’t kid yourself with the MLS academies too. Yes there is no tuition and some travel expenses. If you ever want to go watch your son play you have to pay your own way.
