Some teams will do what they got to do to be competitive and win. That's their choice. Winning in the edp futures league could be the highlight of their season and it makes parents and kids happy. Red Bulls, FA, and CSA don't shoot from kickoff and manage just fine against those that do.

So does that make them a bad team or should they look for a new coach?

Liverpool Goalkeeper scored was that not allowed in this 2011 playbook handbook.

Any player will tell you, you take the advantage that you have. Part of development of players is that they see these opportunities and take them. I have watched many games in flight 1 and flight 2 and I see players learning to play soccer like robots. (every team does this...goal kick...pass to the defender, defender then pass to the outside mid...outside mid then pass to someone in the middle...) That is the problem. Sure they can pass well, but as soon as they are faced with a one v one opportunity, they cannot handle it. Sure they pass well, but they cannot shoot. Sure they pass well, but they do not see that the keeper is out and should chip him. Passing is very important, very near most important, but the players should have the freedom to do other things too.

I am sure the rest of the players on the team will be happy if their teammate scores and for those who say...what does that teach the other players...well maybe nothing or maybe how to score from the kickoff...or maybe it won't matter because after ward they can pass all they want.

Personally I don’t think shooting on the kickoff or having the same player cross midfield and shoot is a great play but who cares if it is not your team and they don’t score vs you. If they do your coach should be good enough to adjust and if they keep doing it you’re coach is clueless and you have the option to leave. Opponents/parents see these plays and make an assumption that the club or coaching is terrible because they do this. It’s hard to make that judgment from a 60min game. Parents on these clubs need to asses the entire season and see if their kid is getting better or not.
Some of these clubs need to win to bluster their reputation and attract players or win to make parents happy to survive.

I'll take a player with great feet, high level of field awareness that reads the game well and believes in ball distribution as opossed to the manchild that punts the ball at the goalie everytime he gets the ball but that's just me. One day goalies will be massively tall and skilled and those punts will be ineffective.
