2011 pda

Does anyone have insight to how the 2011 PDA (somerset/puyol?) team is in comparison to other 2011 clubs in the area - MF Mercer, CSA Monmouth, etc... I'm new to this forum (& academies) and looking for insight as we make decision. I'm following the separate JFF rankings but curious to hear others thought. I know CSA has two teams (green/white) and believe MF has Howard and pre-ECNL team. I can't find any online scores to get understanding of how competitive they are and they're not listed (PDA puyol) on some of the rankings website. Appreciate any help.

PDA Puyol is a decent team. I think they had a bit of a rough fall season but it seems they are doing well in the spring in their bracket, which is the highest and the most challenging EDP bracket for 2011s in NJ (EDP North Blue). MF Mercer has 2 teams, Matchfit Howard and Matchfit Pre-ECNL. Howard is playing up 9v9 and the other 2011 team is playing in the highest EDP Central Bracket. Both teams are decent with Howard having better track record (also known as PDA Hibernian Howard). CSA has 2 teams but there is a significant difference. White is definitely a "B" team and Green is the stronger team and also plays in the same, highest EDP Central Blue Bracket as Matchfit Mercer Pre-ECNL. Depends on what you are looking for for your son and of course which team still needs players or if your son makes it, they are all very competitive teams.

I know one is Puyol, not sure if you know if the other one would be same level or different EDP bracket (as you pointed out - North Blue vs Central). Also, how does 2011 PSA Elite compare to any of these? Agree its things to consider and if my son makes it.

Unfortunately they don’t really compare to the level of talent in the top Brackets. Good team but get blown out when they play top teams. Unless there are another scores I’m not aware of. Overall is a good starting point with players who are not at the level of top brackets I would say.

They don’t look like they have a keeper so not sure if they even have a 2nd team this year. I did hear they lost to FA 3-2 which is not bad.

If enough interest, I am sure PDA would make a 2nd team. I have heard they are struggling for strong players in the young age groups so if it was me, I wouldn't accept an offer for a newly created 2nd team and would insist on a spot on Puyol, especially if they really want your son. Depends on which PSA you mean, PSA SDFC 2011s are ok, PSA Princeton Elite seems to be quite successful playing in the highest EDP Central bracket.
