Team JFF (Just for Fun) has returned with the 2011 Boys weekly review. For this Spring, the JFF team has decided to include all 2011 NJ teams, cluding any team that play out of state or that play 9v9 with the 2010 group. The Jeff Cup, EDP Spring Classic and STA tournaments have been factored in. The YSR website does not include EDP 2011 Futures in their algorythym. So although YSR is interesting, they do not reflect all 2011 boys teams. Good luck to all teams.

It's a shame to see how little the red bulls play...

what do they care? they are not in the business to develop kids, they will take the best players from each team whenever they want. they don't spend there time developing youth.

Their entire business is to develop the best players. What do you think they do in practice and why they don't care about winning.

They are in complete development mode. They are one of the few teams that do it properly and understand that at this age playing games is detrimental to development as it makes kids forget about everything they were taught to play properly during during the week.

Despite what many parents think playing less games is more beneficial at this age. At least to some experts.

I agree with the logic here.
The issue is that parents here "pay to play (games)" and do are not sold on "pay to develop".
If a club sold "pay to develop and scrimmage", would they get enough players/customers to sustain that business model?

I could not disagree more. The top performing kids want to compete. Playing games gives them a chance to learn under pressure and deal with outcomes of their performances.

They have a set development model of x practices per x games.

Of course kids want to compete, they also want to drive a car. To say that they need to learn to perform under pressure is ridiculous.

One of my sons quit lacrosse because all his 'elite' team did was train and he wanted a chance to try out what he had learned in a game situation.

Congrats to Torpedoes, they handed an excellent Bloomfied team their first EDP Futures defeat.

I agree they are a very good team, but the first defeat part is only because they have yet to play anyone above average. They have only played in the 4th and 3rd flights in North Jersey so far. Now they are in the 2nd flight. Glad they keep moving up to their own skill level. Hope they continue to do well.

There always has to be a back-handed compliment on this thread.
There is a guy who always want to tear down teams no matter what.
It is great that BB went on a great streak of winning whoever they have played.
