Find it strange you are questioning develop from these clubs that seem to be getting it right. Union are playing up for what reason ? Only reason you should play up is if you are winning games 12-0 and it’s just not competitive. Judging by unions results this is certainly
Not the case so why are they playing up ? Just a question
Probably because 9v9 is where the age group is heading and 7v7 won't be relevant in another 6 months. Teams won't be able to kick and run or blast the ball from the midfield like they do in the tiny 7v7 fields anymore.

If Union was as terrible as some of the FA parents are claiming on this site why didn't the Red Bulls Grey and Red Bulls Red beat them ??

you think they did not enter the 2011
EDP Cup top flight? Because they know
they will get crushed again. Instead, they
entered the bottom flight of the 2010.
That way they can beat the weakeast
2010 teams and claim they are good.
      What a joke!

RB just hope to poach players. They did
not enter the 2011 EDP Cup either.
RB needs more time to steal players
      from CSA and FA.
Now lots of clubs poach and you see it at young ages. That being said, when the MLS club with a real academy comes a calling is it really poaching? They are clearly the place to go if you want to be pursue a true soccer career. I believe they offer a free academy, not pre-academy though. They have fantastic coaching and a true style of play that they teach from the top down. You would be hard pressed to say no if they came a calling. They definitely recruit and almost everyone is hoping that they approach them about their son. Many clubs have partnerships with RB for when their players are at a level that they need to move on.

Correct but ask the question how many kids from 7v7 -9v9 are still on the Academy team at U13 my estimate is 1-2 if that high. So going to Red Bull’s at the young age groups does nothing it’s just a name.

Not sure why you are mentioning another clubs parents seem to have an issue ? Only
1 reason why you play up of the competition isn’t great at your level ?

In this case every 2011 team will be playing 9v9 in 6 months there's a learning curve adding more players on the field and dealing with a larger field. Also, there's no build out line anymore so there are many reasons why a 2011 team would compliment their season playing in both age groups. In 9v9 you can't just shoot from anywhere anymore or try to kick and run through the middle of the field. These are technical details that only people that know the game would understand. There's absolutely no point to brag about winning at this age so winning isn't everything.

That 9v9 fields are bigger than 7v7 fields and have no buildout line is definitely something that only a brilliant mind with deep knowledge of technical details could figure out. Thank you for sharing this knowledge with the rest of us.

We also fully agree that the size of those pesky 7v7 fields is the only reason why Union is unable to dominate its age group. Next year, I am sure things will be very different. In the meantime, it makes perfect sense to get some great 9v9 experience by playing in the lowest possible 2010 group at the EDP cup. Very funny.

Size of the field is the issue lol

                    1. Union is way to low they should be 4 or 5 watched them play this weekend

                    2. Why is ocean township red a top 15 team playing in the 4th and lowest flight in the edp cup (copper flight)??? Thats just wrong!!! There is a MOSA team from premiere with a loss in the flight ahead of them (old bridge).

Sounds like a parent that never played the game before lol... I feel bad for whatever soccer advice this parent would give their kid.🤣🤣😍

Yes, out here in the suburbs there is no soccer knowledge at all. Such knowledge is only found in big cities like Union. Good luck in the bottom flight of the 2010 group at EDP cup. There are 6 flights in that age group and Union is in the 6th out of 6. A perfect fit. Your vast soccer knowledge combined with all that you will surely learn in such a stellar group should be enough to move up to 5th out of 6 next year.

Money can't buy you a winning team when you transition to 9v9 and kicking and running doesn't work anymore lol good luck !!!

What on earth is the club you are playing for feeding you lol if anything kick and run at 7v7 is pretty tough to do as the field is tiny and you have a build out line. You will see as you get to 11v11 kick and run becomes more common as teams are happy to smash it and run. Guessing you are still the same Union parent who said your team should play up
Becusse you can benefit from more players on the field. So why not play 11v11 then ? Your kid will get less touches at 9v9 so stay at 7v7 where technical
Development can be improved. Probably the same parent who said 4v4 was terrible because it’s not the real game. Stop playing up so that you can boast your team is amazing plying up in flight 6 of tournaments or flight 4 of 2010 and posting it on social media.
