    Surf Soccer Nation

Does anyone have any experience with this?
    https://www.surfsoccernation.com/

Is it a true look at how your player will match up against the best in the region / state? or just another money grab? (I have no issue with profit making if there is a value / product)

    Somewhere in between?

    Thanks!

In NJ it is the former GPS Academy.

I'd stay away at any cost.

They could not pay me to play there. Stay away is an understatement

Can't speak for other states but in NJ, NJ Surf is the resurrected GPS NJ. GPS was a disaster, money-grabber, and a scam. NJ Surf have almost the same exact administration as GPS NJ if not all.

Plenty of other clubs in NJ to play and NJ Surf is one of those anyone should avoid.

They are supposed to be choosing state then regional players to participate in a national tournament, not a club, per SE. Does anyone have any more insight?

I sense animosity to specific people that may be associated with the local affiliation - but does anyone know how the recruiting and tournament play - plays out?

I think you might get more info from California chatroom. Surf is new in NJ.

Surf is just the name the organization is still GPS NJ just a name change to fool the youth soccer consumer into thinking this is something new

The San Diego Surf is a legit club and one of the top nationally. They host one of the best known tournaments every summer.

Looks like they have gone on a franchising spree of late, and the New Jersey Surf is one such operation.

and just to add to this, the New Jersey operation is a partnership with Matchfit and incorporates much of the former New Jersey GPS staff.

Surf in San Diego is the real club. They license out the name to existing clubs for branding. That’s all. It’s like buying a fast food restaurant franchise.

Surfing USA baby! They bought a bankrupt GPS brand that was going under. Yes SD is the real deal, everything else you might as well put the Bayern Munchen sticker on it don’t mean it’s Bayern Munchen.
