SJEB does a great job with their young groups and develops kids in a way to bring out the individual skills of the best players. They just don't have the top athletes to work with. THe top end kids are typically really good, but the middle to bottom kids represent a big drop off. If you are looking to develop a player individually, you could do a lot worse than SJEB. They don't create robots, but just the opposite. They encourage the kids to show their individual skill within a team concept. It is always just a matter of depth.

They promote aggressiveness and size, look at some of the more technically skilled players on the B teams. They are usually (mostly) lacking in size. Of those that most would amaze at the technical skill, they do the same 2-3 moves the most obvious being the Barons pull. Watch a game and count the number of times a player does an over exaggerated pull back (with their right foot almost exclusively I might add). Want to stop an advancing SJEB player...anticipate the change of direction to their right when they go for the pull back. You'll beat them every time.
I'm not saying a player at SJEB won't become skilled, you can go through their Facebook and Twitter and see all the skills their players can do. I'm saying they will be one dimensional, trained to play whatever position their coach decides they are a best fit for. If they are a favorite they may be able to move to a position they want otherwise they are simply support.
For the most part, they are taught like robots. The coaches say buzz words like creativity and individuality on the ball but in games it's all 1-2 touch pass for the support players while the favs do whatever they want to.

Just out of curiosity why with soccer do people complain about the biggest and fastest players getting more attention? I understand that there is a lot more that goes into soccer but, as my college football coach always said, " you can't teach height or speed". Size meaning muscle/strength you can put on but height no. Speed you can work on but you'll never be fast. Your born with both of those and yes kids develop at different times but by age 14-15, 95% of the time you know who is tall and fast. Skill, IQ and strength can be taught or gained but height and flat out speed can not.
Weird that in every other sport it is an attribute to be tall and fast but, in soccer they seems to talk like it is a detriment.

So what clubs don't do this? I think it's a given that every big club has a tier of players they favor and treat the rest like extras. At least the SJEB kids take chances to make things happen on the field.
As far as robots go...have seen many SJEB "A" games and they creatively find ways to move the ball and score. They typically lose because they don't have the same volume of good athletes. In a competitive area, it's tough to get a roster full of A level kids these days. At any GA or ECNL club locally (except maybe PDA) the last 5-6 kids (at least) aren't really top caliber kids. As for their "B" teams; the kids are obviously not skilled like you say otherwise the results wouldn't be so bad.

You would think that actual development for all would be the norm since you don't actually know who is going to be the puberty winners. A lot of great PDA Blue players came from SJEB youth teams, probably one reason why SJEB couldn't muster ECNL status.

A lot of PDA Blue players come from SJEB !!??
A lot of PDA South players come from SJEB.
They figure out SJEB is fraud in SJ and they leave. It’s that simple

To add, SJ is not a hot bed of youth soccer. Aside from SJEB, PDA South and Real pickens get real slim real fast as far as clubs are concerned. There are some good players here and their not on those 3 put not many across the age groups. SJ also doesn't have those showcase only teams or non-academy training.

North Jersey not exactly a hotbed outside pda blue.

And they still allow "stud" players to drive up the middle or drive from the cornor flag to goal to take on 3-4 defenders while the rest of the team hang back and watches. No direction or correction. You can tell when a non-favored player does this when the coach starts yelling anything about passing.
