Massachusetts is mandating masks during games, starting Monday. And they have modified a bunch of rules to go along with it. No throw ins - kick ins instead. No corner kicks into the box. No headers. And best of all...no contact. Not sure we have so xer anymore.. Check out MYSA web site for details.

Nuts just simply nuts. Although this looks like their answer to be still be able to play vs. having to shut down via the governor/state.
Level 3 vs Level 4 and moderate risk.
Will be interesting to see if anyone actually follows this. Better off just playing within the club.
The interesting thing about covid is that everyone says its about the science and then subjectively chooses the science parts that they find appropriate.
Like you have to be in close contact with someone for 10-15 minutes to be considered at risk as far as quarantining if someone you have been close to gets infected. Then we outlaw all these parts of the game but at end of day a shoulder tackle or being 2 feet away still puts you within the 6 feet and at close contact.
Or my favorite you have to quarantine unless you are a business traveler or a healthcare worker.
If it really was about the science either everything would be allowed or nothing.
really can't have it both ways and still lean on "its about the science". Can't build a wall on a free kick but you can practice constantly with those same teammates well within 6 feet for 3-6 hours a week?
Next it GK can't use hands lmao

These rules are ridiculous. These guidelines mean nothing. Either they are deemed well enough to play or not. No one will follow these guidelines because your not playing soccer. This is no middle ground nor will this be considered a soccer match. They would be better off not having soccer till the Spring 2021 then play this mess. The vast majority of colleges in New England have cancelled their fall season Of sports based on the medical and scientific evidence presented to them. It should be no different t the local level as well.

It is far more dangerous for kids to play with a mask on, than it is to potentially catch anything from another player.
Basic science, the mask will reduce the quality of airflow needed.

Here is a tip, healthy people do not have a problem breathing and even exercising in masks. If masks impact your breathing enough so that it is an issue, there is likely another issue that should be addressed first.
