HMMM, good question - Clarkstown beat PDA Blue 10/19 2-0 while Real beat Clarkstown 3-0 on 7/19. Might make an interesting match to see PDA Blue and Real 06 play. Or could have just been match-ups between the teams that made a difference. Either way I'd take my D to watch that game.

Blue is way out of their league and definitely not in the same league or conversation as I we have played against Real and have seen PDA Blue and White play several of times over the years.

Probably more accurate to say 06 Real is a lot better than white but just under Blue. the game they have played against BLUE was close. PDA white gets hammered by BLUE.

Why doesn’t real try for ECNL if they are this good? Girls paying lots of money for lack of exposure? What does real do to help their girls get noticed?

You don't "try" for ECNL. As of today, you are either either in as an entire club or not in. There is a board of directors formed from ecnl clubs that decides who is in or out. The '06 real team might be excellent, but they don't have top performing teams up and down their age brackets. Besides that, there are already 4 ECNL teams in NJ (PDA blue, white, south, and MF north). It is highly unlikely that a league that prides itself on being "elite" would want to water it down further by granting another team in NJ.

Sorry but still no comparison maybe for PDA White but the Blue team is out of their league sorry. Not comparable at all REAL has lost to our CSA Black team twice and PDA Blue beat us 4-0 again not comparable at all. Also REAL lost to FC Bucks and looking at the records they haven't come close to beating that PDA Blue team. Sorry but as I said they are not even close

ECNL...Elite league. It's an old boys club that looks after its own. PDA having 3 teams in the same state is an embarrassment to anything that is elite (not to PDA, to the league). That alone tells you everything you need to know about ECNL. Their next best marketing buddy Match Fit will probably get a second one down the shore.

ECNL has been the 'top girls pathway" for the past 8 years. But yet our youth national team in that time has underdelivered constantly they have had one placed finish (4th) at youth level in the past 10 years at youth world cups.

Our current USWNT didn't come through ECNL and are doing just fine. So they promise you collage, didn't all these top players get into college no problem before ECNL was around. It is a money maker that is very well advertised (and sadly, I have been a contributor to that with my kid playing ECNL). My daughter has been to many national camps, and kids played all different leagues, if you are good enough, you get noticed.

PDA's top ECNL team played against Barcelona at the ICC, they were taught a soccer lesson, completely outplayed in every aspect of the game. PDA did have bigger, faster and stronger players, but didn't quite cut it against kids that could play, it was night and day in level of play.

ECNL is making our collages do well, but not our national program, so really how elite is it or is it more elitism. It benefits their pockets and all their old boys pockets, while our kids don't gain anything if they want to be more than college players.

Real is a nice little township team, basically a family business. Good team but they seem to churn a lot of players and based on what I’ve seen play in a somewhat watered down 06 EDP bracket. PDA South would be a great option, quality coaches, exposure and facilities along with the best academy in the world. Why would anyone choose to continue funding a family business with no exposure (such as PDA offers) is beyond comprehension.

Tobin Heath played for PDA, Lindsey Horan played for Colorado Rush when it was still ECNL many of them played ECNL. The only ones who weren't were the youth teams who where mainly DA the last 2 years and lost a lot.

ECNL was founded in 2009, Tobin graduated from UNC in 2009. She wasn’t an ECNL player.

And PDA should be giving her a cut of the money they’ve gotten from using her as their draw.

My comment wasn't at the clubs, it was at The ECNL. just want to make that clear.

The two players you quoted didn't play ECNL btw. Pretty sure they were already in collage by the time ECNL launched.

Think poster was trying to say since it didn't exist for most of the girls on the team then you can't really say anything about it. BUT a number of players did play for clubs who would go on to found and play in ECNL.

Listen, if you want to pile up Gotsoccer points and pound your chest that your Sally’s team is “the best” then Real is the spot for you. Based on that the are highly ranked for sure. If you however want real development (no pun intended) then PDA South is one of the best. Also no daddy coaches like they have at Real so you don’t have to worry about who’s friends with who and potential favoritism.

Real teams are also highly ranked on https://youthsoccerrankings.us/ so it isn't just piling on gotsoccer points. Interesting though that now that PDA South got ECNL their have been some coaching changes.

Another nonsense ranking there are township teams highly ranked so it can’t be that accurate!
