Inside the Final Days of the DA

Very interesting article, worth a read. Feel bad for the clubs like CSA, STA etc spending millions to invest in their players and facilities. No wonder there is a mass exodus from these places. Hope they can rise to greatness from the ashes again.

    Both need better trainers first.

This was STA's first (and only) year in the girls' DA. They were a good fit as a club for many families before they added DA. And for many of those same families, and additional others like them, they will continue to be a good fit.

And I don't know what people refer to as a great club. Most parents are there at STA not because they think their daughter will on the USWNT but because playing the sport competitively is what their kid would like to do.

Most people I know who step out of their house for a walk or a run do not do so with the intention of beating a world champion marathoner.

What is needed is a safe, friendly, and respectful atmosphere, which STA does a great job of providing.

              OMFG BEST QUOTE EVER

“The bottom 25 or so clubs for the DA and ECNL did not belong in those competitions. And I’m talking clubs, not even individual teams. This is especially apparent on the girls side,” one college coach who recruits in both leagues told SoccerWire.com.

Even better when you take it with the next paragraph

“Level of play for bottom 25 clubs was poor. Poor/underdeveloped coaches, no pathway and over-saturation of the market killed many clubs’ ability to be good … There just aren’t enough high-level players to fill all these ‘elite’ teams’ programs, because there are so many local options that are equally as good at the USYS [US Youth Soccer] National League level.”

Lol! Tetro at CSA? Hes not a trainer, hes a recruiter, doesn't develope kids, just goes after already developed kids from other clubs and takes the crdit for it, not to mention, jumps from club to club when he knows hes getting canned. ((This is where a CSA parents fires back that he didn't get canned, I don't know what I'm.talking about, etc... ) If he was such a good trainer his kids wouldn't need to seek outside training. Yes, kids do outside training, but his kids need to do 5,6,7 days a week more just to keep developing because hes not. Stop drinking from the same koolaid bowl your dog does. (Watch this people, this is where a CSA parent will say "little suzi couldn't make his team", or I'm a jealous parent, lol....) I wouldn't be surprised if RT's wife didn't write this post, or at.least one of his players parents that suck his ass. If so, you got the post out there. RT will be proud of you. Now stop with you stupid nonsense and fo back in your moms basement and watch cartoons....

Spot on! And the over saturation continues. My kid plays ECNL and we see first hand how bad the bottom 25 clubs like Bucks, Delco and Matchfit perform, they are all far from elite and with the addition of PF and PDA south the level of play will be even worse. There just aren’t enough elite players in the area to fill and make so many teams competitive. The North Atlantic division of ECNL with the exception of PDA blue is a joke.

Actually Penn Fusion is a big loss for our GAL league. Hate to see them leave us. They have very good talent up and down the age groups. We have also lost players to Bucks and Delco in the past two months. Not good. We also missed out on getting Pipeline who has always been a good club. If that ECNL division is bad then we look like a joke for mid-Atlantic GAL. Lost so many players and the teams outside FCV are not good.

Agree GAL mid-Atlantic is like a EDP division with one elite club. FCV will not score less then 3 every game at any age group against those GAL clubs. It’s a shame they are not in the best league. They should be playing against all those NC ECNL clubs. Youth Soccer is so bad.

Agree Penn Fusion is good but the addition of them will further weaken the already really bad Bucks and Delco clubs as PF is in close proximity to both.

Sad that it isnt all one league with tier one and tier two so the top teams can play each other and then the second level play each other for the right to make tier 1. ECNL should have invited in (almost) everyone, made the league one league, left ECRL to be NPL and then had big regional showcase events. It would be tough luck for former DA clubs to be tier 2 but they'd have the incentive to improve. Likewise some current ECNLs could be put on probation in tier 2 to make room for the tophats, FCVs, etc.
