CSA Monmouth ripping people off with refunds

    Good Evening,

First and foremost, we hope that you and your families are well and safe! We would like to thank all our players, families, and Cedar Stars Academy - Monmouth staff for adapting quickly and supporting the concept of virtual learning. We are proud to have been able to provide valuable content remotely through numerous platforms to continue the development and support of all our players.

As the Governor begins to lift restrictions, we will be able to return to the field soon and continue our spring season with a phased approach. As we move forward with reopening the Capelli Sport complex on June 22, 2020, it's important to understand that returning to play is a personal decision. If you are not comfortable returning to play, please do not. It is the responsibility of the Club, coaches, players and parents to equally uphold the rules to comply with the Governor’s ordered restrictions. You will receive further correspondence from the Club with a brief survey looking for information regarding return to play, as well as your availability.

With the season scheduled to resume on June 22 through July 31, 2020, and assessing all relevant and evolving communication to date, we would like to address questions relating to credits. Many operational costs, ie: league and tournament fees, state cup, field rentals, carding, insurance, etc. were paid in advance prior to the suspension of Covid-19. After review of all these expenses, and taking into consideration the loss of Spring “on the field time”, we are offering a customer appreciation credit of $200.00 for families that paid the 2019-2020 season in full without any financial assistance. This credit can be applied towards the 2020-2021 season tuition 1st installment payment after the acceptance deposit has been received. The credit is non-transferable and will expire on June 30, 2021.

Next week, the 2020 – 2021 Program outline will be forwarded. Look forward to seeing you on June 22nd. Be safe and stay healthy!

    Best regards,

    Cedar Stars Academy – Monmouth

    Just saw this too!
    Are they serious
3k in tuition and no spring season at all with very limited and weak virtual opps and they only offer 200 credit
What about kids that aren’t returning and won’t be using it towards next year?? Are they getting nothing???? They better be mailing refunds to people not coming back to this joke of a organization
If toueneys canceled and leagues canceled I assume clubs get money back from these

      This is ridiculous

I am with a town club charging only $1,200/yr, not including uniforms and tournaments, and playing in EDP. We got $400 back ...

They are a dying club, bleeding kids left and right and they can’t even do the right thing and reimburse the families during this tough time financially
And if you aren’t returning to the club do you get screwed????
One has nothing to do with the other
This was for spring season and if people don’t return they should still be entitled to money back even if it is the joke of only 200!!

Edp made it clear last weekend they are assessing everything and tournaments don’t give money back. No club is getting money back for league/tournaments you dumby.

You are lucky to be getting any money back my daughter plays for PDA and they asked for money already with no refund for next year.

In this time nobody will be happy with whatever amount of refund or credit people get. Shut up and be quiet.

Where did you come up with the $500’s? Just pulling numbers out of your uneducated ass. If you got $500 you would of complained that they didn’t give you $1000

Move on stop complaining and be grateful for what you received.

                    Exactly
Easily 1200 would be spring cost and edp is not an expensive league cost and not paying coaches is huge savings
Want to hear the biggest kicker
Monmouth is more expensive than Bergen tuition and they offered Bergen kids 300 credit and Monmouth 200
Did owner approve 300 and Monmouth said let’s only give 200
Same email to both clubs except the dollar amount diff for Bergen
                    Joke

You’re right $1,000 sounds more reasonable.

                              This is a disgrace.

If my kid played there and they didn't reconsider and increase the refund significantly, I'd consider taking them to small claims court, switch clubs and never give them another dollar ever again.

                              Major disgrace...
