Your giving this information as if this is an absolute fact. Can you direct us to where you read that ECNL will be taking action against under performing clubs as well as where they specifically state STA is the front runner. I absolutely agree they need to either demote or show the exit to under performing clubs that do nothing to improve. When you have 3 ECNL clubs already in NJ with 4 teams per age group do you really think they will add a 5th team per age? There is already a lack of depth of talent and you want to add more? It seems those parents whose players cannot earn a spot on an existing ECNL team think if they keep adding clubs there kid can finally play ECNL. Let us know where you read that information.

I believe what the poster is saying in order to add another team in NJ, they would need to remove a team. PDA South just got in, so they aren't going anywhere, and besides, PDA sits on the board. You need to ask yourself, which club has had more success with it's teams. If you put one against the other, STA stands out as the better performing club. It's just the way it is. MF has had alot of issues and adding one new coach with one decent team will not change the dynamic of the entire club.

The bottom line is that with the fall of the DA, alot of talented DA clubs were looking to get into the ECNL with their teams. NJ has three currently in the ENCL. PDA North, PDA South and MF. STA and CSA were DA clubs. CSA is a mess right now, and even if they weren't they are to close to PDA North and South to get in. STA has had some very good teams and applied tonget into the ECNL. Because MF and STA are relatively close to eash other it didn't make sense to add them. If you want to keep the ECNL a top flight type of program, you would want every club involved to be some of the best talent. There is absolutely no way on earth you can say MF is a better run program that STA. And because of the DA, MF never had any competition for the ECNL position. Now all bets are off. We can debate this as much as you want, and this is youth soccer where anything can happen. Only time will tell what the outcome would be. If your a parent looking to get into.a ECNL program, my suggestion would be to hop on the STA bandwagon now and get your kid in before it's to late. If not, keep believing what your being told by your coach. Maybe hes 100% correct. Maybe all this is just a fantasy.

CSA is also applying or applied they know GAL is a tough sell but may be stuck in it until it slowly dissolves and prob merged into USYS. Only time will tell but it seems ECNL is not an option.

First off, get your information correct. PDA Shore IS NOT IN THE ECNL. PDA South is. As for MF Shore, based on what the ECNL is saying, under performing clubs will not be around for the 21/22 season, with STA being the front runner to replace them. Believe what your beloved coach is telling you. It's his job to keep you all happy. Only time will tell what the future holds for MF...

You aren't making sense. First, you said they are a PDA Shore team that plays ENCL, but practice out of PDA North? Now you're saying that they are too good for ECRL and should be in ECNL. Which is it?

I understand you want STA to be ECNL but the way the league is positioned is they want to accumulate the best/top players to a given ECNL club in the area to ensure that training is competitive and the team is competitive as a group. Now that there is no longer STA DA logic says the top players from STA would now move over to MF to make up for there lessor players who are not competitive or move over to PDA to make the White team better. It's going to be interesting next fall when all the MF parents are bitching that they were moved from the ECNL. It's happened before to other clubs across the country, so it's not unheard off. I understand your probably a MF parent and want to believe you guys don't have anything to worry about. I'm sure if you ask your coach, or DB for that matter, they will tell you it's not true and will never happen. It's a business and they need to generate income, so telling anyone that there is a possibility that this could happen wouldn't make any sense. Only time will tell. I hope whatever the outcome is, you will do what's best for your child

Maybe put down the ice cream cone and do some research on a club before you post. Tophat was in the ECNL. In fact, they were pretty successful in it. They switched over to the DA program, whichbis probably why they can't get back in....

I do not understand your post. “Not every team that wants in will get it” That is precisely why no other NJ Clubs will get in. Geographically it makes more sense for NJ is subtract a club than add a lessor club that does not meet the criteria and standards as set forth by ECNL. You could choose to believe whatever you want but at some point you have to be realistic. There are 4 teams per age group which means approx 80 players per age playing ECNL. This Geographic area lacks the depth to add more. Why do you think that NJ has more clubs that are thought of as highly by ECNL? 3 clubs Tophat, FC Virginia & NEFC are all superior than CS Monmouth, SJEB & STA and they can’t get in. I am not narrow minded but realistic. Maybe you should consider that as well. If my daughter is good enough for ECNL then you have plenty of options to try out. Don’t wait around and hope.
