- the coach should be responsible for handing out scholarships to players
- the coach should observe club players and nominate to events
- the board of director member should make decision about other club entry into market
- the board member should award their own club 2 teams per age group

It seems like all such a spectacular conflict of interests. Why would clubs want to partake in a league where other clubs have power and they don’t? It’s totally insane.

ECNL was founded by PDA any they are on the board of directors (along with Stars) and will block any clubs from joining. The only reason why MF is in ECNL is because they are so horrible at coaching that any decent player is basically forced to try out for PDA at some point in time.

It is in the state it is in because the so-called top level leagues figured out how to sell youth soccer as a status symbol and the customers eat it up. They have manipulated the "my kid is better then your kid" nonsense to the tune of millions.

Im pretty sure PDA was still on the board when they were DA, didn't they have teams in both leagues? Wasn't that their rational for being allowed to have 2 teams in ECNL? Most of these directors have been on the board since the inception of ECNL. Lavers has been president since 09 and a few of them have been VP or interim VP on and off. Honestly their entire board reads off like the UAW. Who's in it to line their own pocket instead of establishing a TRUE national elite league.

Sure, ECNL has some really great clubs, but then they have some really bad ones as well and do nothing about it. How can a league even announce themselves as "Elite" when they continually block other local clubs and refuse to even play against them. Looking through Youth Soccer Rankings site I don't see a lot of cross over between ECNL clubs and other leagues beside the occasional Non-ECNL tournament and even then it is always a slam dunk for the ECNL team.

How come Real Jersey didn’t apply for GAL? Is the competition in USYS better than STA, CSA, SJEB, Sporting FC Delaware and the Ukrainian Nationals?
