Plenty of non-DA players available to fill ECNL rosters, even to Matchfit bloated 30 person per team standards.

Welcome to the real world, DA players.
This makes it way more serious a thing than it ever was. People didn't take sides like this was debating the invading of iraq. They eitehr stayed at their club or took went to another one. Some clubs chose DA because they were shut out by ECNL or pressured by USSF to do GDA or lose their BDA badge. It was so many things happening, but it wasnt some huge existential question. Some people stayed at ECNL, some people went DA. Some clubs like PDA and World Class hedged their bets and played both.

Good DA players will be welcomed with open arms onto ECNL teams and lower third ECNLers will be punted aside with no ceremony. All this assuming there's any market for $10k/year soccer, which is probably the biggest question of all.

There is a market for it but a much smaller market then there was 4 weeks ago.

And 4 weeks from now maybe even less so. By the time we get out of this mess that China put us in, we may owe back so many trillions and have so many unemployed that soccer has no market left for anyone.

That this was coming from China or somewhere else at some point has been long known and the almost exact consequences predicted. And it will also happen again at some point in the future as it has happened with regularity in the past. Can we please not be so stupid and be better prepared next time?

Agreed - the biggest question will be - are there enough people still willing to spend the 10k plus on youth soccer, hop on planes and drive cross states for youth sports - when there is pretty decent competition within two hours? Hard to imagine there won’t be a change in the youth soccer landscape- chalk up another victim to the #coronavirus

Not talking about Tri-state. Talking about the better ECNL clubs getting the better players from DA.

Who would do 20 for that matter like PDA? What parent in their right mind would put their child on a team and get less than 80% playing time? 20+kids? LOL Good luck unless you have an agreement with MO before the season starts next Spring. That would of been a **** show this Spring. Maybe 8 kids get that much time on that team. The rest would scrap for time and Suzy's dad would be complaining to MO weekly.

again, not to be dense, the idea that with GDA potentially folding, the clubs would lose their players is quite far fetched.

                  a) if gda folds, those clubs are probably "in the know" and are forming an equivalent league with same trainers and similar showcasing
                  b) maybe us soccer is in talks with ecnl now to admit those clubs to ecnl

I would say that instead of the GDA folding which I don't think they will do but it could happen ("rumors") have it in the coming year(s) maybe, that they visit the notion of "JOINING" the ECNL. I think this should have been the more from the start. This is not to say who is in charge but to really give "EVERY" look and option to the very kid that this is all about anyway. What I feel should be done is that the GDA be a part of the ECNL. Below how I imagine it.

                      ECNL/GDA
                      NPL
                      Regional Leagues
                      etc.

                        It’s not about the kids.

It’s about the $$$. To hell with the kids. lolol!!!!!

All the “non-profits” smelling the money...

Are you completely new at this? GDA went full force at ECNL to put them under. The situation is beyond “joining” anything. While there may not be a hostile take over, there will be a winner and loser in this fight.

We all know it's about the money but I was just saying that's what I feel they should do to continue to service all

Yeah I know and that's the sad part about it because the only loser will be kids.

It’s always been about the $$$.

Maybe ECNL absorbs those players (widgets). Bloat rosters to 30 (Matchfit). Add a second ECNL team to club to fit the DA castoffs.

                                Then call it a win-win.

Never about the kids....ever. Naive to believe otherwise. Lololol
