Blabbing? Who is blabbing? College soccer is a relative game. Rutgers are at the bottom of the top level. They will stay there until they can actually attract top level players from all over the country. Given the academics, location and facilities, I dont see that happening any time soon. Competing and beating the top tier schools for talent is going to be hard for Rutgers. Especially if the perception is that local kids have the inside track.

I don’t get the comment about the system not translating/working past ECNL??? ECNL is the best youth league in the world for girls and so if talent and tactics work there they should work anywhere. Why is the college game different and what league translates better according to your “expert” opinion?

All of the leagues are watered down including ECNL. It was top yrs ago. GDA came along. GDA was top for yr or two. Then reshuffle. And still in reshuffle.

2nd - Whens the last time a Big Ten school made it to championships? Rutgers lost 1st rd last year. As much as I hate them, SEC has D1 womens soccer locked down.

ECNL is good at what it does:
- gets girls ready to play "college style soccer"
- helps girls get seen through its showcases

There are also a handful of ECNL Clubs or maybe just teams that have some additional goodness:
- concentration of enough talent so that there is collaboration AND competition on the team
- a decent coach that can help with game intelligence as opposed to the kick and run

There are many things that are just bad about the ECNL play that have been exposed in 2 ways:
- every single PDA championship team fizzled out at GDA play offs 2 years ago. they just were not organized to play that format
- the "best" PDA team that went to play at the ICC was embarrassed 2x (and got lucky once) because of their one dimensional style of play (even though NH is still the best PDA coach)

The games are available on youtube (or talk to PDA video guy if you know him) if you care to find them. Once you are done we can take the discussion further. We could also talk about college "run and press" and how its just 60% soccer.
