We are a township club team from North Jersey and looking for alternative options likely starting Fall 2020. What is the criteria to play in this league and how do they treat NJ teams from a travel perspective...any info shared would be useful thx.

Not sure how they treat teams but you can expect travel to be anywhere within 2hrs though mileage varies based on div opponents.

Geez! Traveling from Jersey to Long Island on Saturdays for away games is @#&&$$@ !!! painful, especially trying to get back. So many good teams / slash divisions to pick from. Easier go to Pennsylvania, Connecticut, even Maryland and Massachusetts than put up with that s#$&#t again.

Are you serious?? Why would they make teams travel so much for a league that’s supposed to be local as the name would indicate?

Sure, the lower levels are closer in distance as it is easier to match. The higher you go in divisions the farther you will travel unless you are in North Jersey/NY, Baltimore area or certain parts of PA. If you are in South Jersey or even lower central you are going to travel far.

Just curious - why are you thinking about NYCSL instead of EDP, NCSA, Alliance, etc.?

I heard that it’s an easier league to compete in and wanted to keep it local too, but it seems that the travel could be pretty long.

Probably not a good idea to look at NY-based leagues if you are from NJ and want lower level competition with minimal travel. Plenty of leagues available in NJ.

There are teams from Ocean Co NJ (which shall remain nameless) playing in this league, pretty crazy but it’s a business and we’re getting strung along. Don’t know what the attraction is playing in a league of have nots and academy BCD teams. To be honest we have to travel from NY to freaking Toms River which is not fun.

Because they got burnt by the Alliance League being a dumpster fire, and didn't enter EDP in time?

That’s a real shame that they are stuck playing in this league, wonder how they are selling something like this to the poor parents paying thousands of $$.

There is a possibility that given some of the NYE hotspots for Corona virus some games may have to be cancelled or moved
