Someone has a lot of information and clearly bitter. Just leave my daughters team out of your toxic agenda. You were probably one of the ones we were happy to get rid of.

This is exactly the case. I've seen uncommitted MF players join PDA and get much better offers than what DB was proposing "as target potential" for his players.

Its not just showcasing opportunity. MF does not have a solid college recruiting program, and DB thinks he's doing a great job (and he sucks), whereas PDA has dedicated people who guide the players and coaches that vouch on players potential.

Funny. Do you think really big programs care about a PDA person vouching? Itr is very possible that a PDA recommendation gets a borderline kid into a program, but the reality is so many of you feel you are in that position that you pay for it. If you just had a more objective balanced view of your kids goals and talent, you would not need PDA or anyone else.

Most clubs are very similar

Most of these "top" NJ clubs are extremely similar.

Some observations...when it comes to player rating, it is mostly about opinions and luck.

Top half of many A teams are standouts and most of us understand why the club loves them....next 7-20 players are probably pretty similar in skill to one another. If you find yourself and daughter in top half of A team more than likely you are happy with your club choice.

Players 7-20 and in some cases 7-30 its a complete coin flip. If the club rates you high you are golden, if not GO somewhere else where they will put you in top of A team. Maybe even "gasp" EDP. It could be just as simple as the style of play they want vs your daughter's skill set. It could be that they still associate your daughter of four years ago to now. Could be they have a better striker or CM. It doesn't matter just GO! There is no loyalty from the club...and in many cases if your daughter is on the cusp of a top team, probably she is pretty good, go find her an environment where she will thrive. If she is the second best striker at PDA she might be the second best in the state. Most of us negotiate many things in life...start doing it for your kid.

There was an article last year that said roughly 400 girls from NJ were playing D1. Roughly 100/yr. Once again let me repeat that 100. For a reference point there are roughly 850 high schools in NJ. Some of those colleges where the 100 are playing are not exactly the D1 schools we want our kids to attend. True many come from a powerhouse like PDA. But they also come from other places. If unhappy and your daughter is good find someone that puts her near the top and have them develop, advocate and coach your daughter. Screw the letters on the jersey....No one outside this bubble cares if your daughter plays for PDA, MF, STA, CSA, PSA...if you are happy be happy. Just a note, are you just as nuts about whether your daughter is at the top of her class academically? Do you do standardized testing training? Extra course work during winters and summers? Just food for thought.

Face it most of our daughters aren't playing D1, most of them want to play high school and then they will see. If your hell bent on D1 give your daughter a field hockey or lacrosse stick, much better chance they will play D1 in those sports before soccer. Better yet have the hit the books just as hard as sports and those academics might just be what lands them on the bench at a fantastic D1 school.

All clubs have great stories.....all have horror stories as well...it's just about where your kid stands with the club.

There is a certain club that specifically markets to parents as a "pathway to college" without setting appropriate expectations (as you do above, including alternatives) and without laying out the level of effort and likelihood of making a D1.

One governing body should exist and should be able to dictate that clubs have one team per age group, capped rosters of no greater than 18, limits on guest players, etc. This wild west free market has resulted in absolutely zero benefit for players and lots of revenue for clubs, most of which operate as "non profits" and who have no interest in developing players, as they are paid to do, but instead just poach and aggregate. It is sad that commercial entities like league organizers and club owners have ruined the experience for the participating families.

Top 7 are rarely standouts. They just aren't. A standout to me is a kid with the talent to play meaningful minutes at a top 25 school. Maybe there are 7 in an entire Club. Its not a given in any age group that a club has one, let alone 7.

Searching the 503c status I don't see any Academies that have non-profit status as well as EDP league. Take that into consideration when discussing EDP and all these Academies. They are for profit businesses and will do whatever it takes to maximize profits.

Several Academies advertise as a "pathway to college" and do not say anything else about it. It's the selling hook for any academy or club.

Today PSA leadership made sure to let all the parents know that PSA leadership is finally listening too them and believing all them in regards to their complaints about what an awful coach DM is, how DM treats the players and families poorly, and the damage DM has caused to the reputation of PSA. This is not a lie, this is a fact. They heard the feedback from many parents that they would not being their kids back next year if DM was going to continue to be their kids coach. So today they had MC call all the parents of the children on the 2007G National Team to communicate the following guarantees:

1. Starting in the fall, the 2007G National Team will be a full time team. All of the players would play only for the National Team and would not be required to play on DM’s 2007G Wildcats Regional Team.

2. MC would be the coach of the 2007G National Team. Effective immediately DM’s interference in the 2007 team will no longer be tolerated.

3. DM will no longer be permitted to coach the 2006 National Team because PSA is turning the coaching responsibilities of that team over to MC.

These are all facts. We all received this phone call with this information today. Solid proof of PSAs concern regarding the retention of their top players and their fear that these players will leave due to DM. In order to make it favorable for these players to stay and to sway these players to make a decision to stay, PSA created a situation for these players to be able to stay and not have to worry about being exposed to DM any further.

So now the truth is out there. The truth that the players and parents have no respect for DM and were going to leave because of him. The truth that PSA recognizes that and is working hard to rectify the situation and ease parents concerns about their kids’ development and skills rotting away for another year because of DM.
