So you should know what the problem(s) are.

How many days/hours do they train each week with their team (assuming its a club team if you are travelling every weekend). Don't include high school as they mostly play games once the season starts with very little real training.

my youngest is the best example i can exploit...he is 9 and practices 4-5 days a week perhaps 1.5-2 hours/day with a game or two each weekend with his team mates. The coach is south american, passionate and extremely demanding. Winter is the busiest time because he does futsal league and tournaments every single weekend.

Is he not athletic? Is that why he trains upwards of 10 hours per week? 2 games a weekend is probably too much but at least the ratio of training to games is sensible.

Would it surprise you that many "top" clubs in "top" leagues in the U.S. train 2 times a week for a total of 3 hours. Some go the extra mile adding a third day for 1.5 hours.

So without knowing anything about your youngest it would be safe to assume that his quality (if the training at age 9 focuses on ball mastery and not organized play) would be better player than a similarly situated 9 year old at one of the other clubs training 2 times for 3 hours total per week.

Not sure why the coach being South American was important to add however.

My son as well as about 75% of the team are playing up 2 years (u12) in d1. That is the reason for all the training. They would not be able to compete otherwise. Coach is passionate which is also the reason he does not mind all the practices....understand wise-ss?

Weren't you the guy who said soccer can't compete in the U.S.? Seems like you are spending a lot of your and kid's time on a 4th rate sport.

I'm not the original poster but not sure why you are calling that guy names. Maybe re-read the thread so you know what's up.

I know what the thread is about. Just adding clarification to post #94 that someone else started (maybe it was you that went off tangent originally?).

                    He won't answer.

He's a troll. No one talks about the major U.S. sports citing attendance figures, revenue etc. to criticize U.S. Soccer development and then has time to take their kid to soccer 7 days a week while also writing on this forum.

75% of the team is playing 2 years up lol? Whatever this team is they might be the first U.S. National Team to win a World Cup. And they have a South American coach (whatever that means) who is passionate (whatever that means). Sounds like a dream that he will not share with others.

My kids enjoy playing. Should I take them out of the Game because soccer is not as popular as football or baseball? I enjoy watching them play, so what? Is it also unheard of for some kids to play up a year or two? My sons team just happens to have 8 kids born 2010 playing u12 (which includes the coaches kid). Don’t be a hater bro.

Not hating. And at the end of the day no one cares about what your kids are doing. The point was you had a bunch of posts essentially bashing U.S. soccer on the basis that NFL, MLB, NHL, generated more money and had more fans.

Now you are stating that you attend soccer training 5 days a week, about 10 hours total, plus 2 games on weekends, have a South American coach ( who's kid is also on the team), and drive all over the place.

I'm not sure what Division 1 is or how far you travel but glad you enough the time you're putting in.

We’ll post #92. Someone was asking me how much time my kids train so I was simply trying to answer the question. Why are you being such a dik? Also would a regular white American “soccer dad” schedule so many practices per week? Probably no....it’s not my fault that you don’t like it that my kid trains a lot.....it’s simply your own problem.

Nothing to see here. Just a Dad coached soccer team. Time to move on no breakthroughs in U.S. Soccer.

There ain’t ever going to be any breakthroughs either. Just enjoy watching your kids play. It goes fast.
