She's a novice. Here are my tried and true methods to guarantee an ECNL roster spot and some playing time at MFA:

Method 1 Turf Jockey

1. Fill up those gas tanks. Don't wait to be asked, just volunteer. And load them up in your car.

2. Take those gas tanks and fill up those generators. Do it during practice so everyone can see.

3. Turn on those generators at the appropriate time. Just make sure you wait until it gets dark otherwise you will be repeating steps 1 and 2 way too much.

Method 2 Marsellus Wallace (aka Pulp Fiction, aka "Spider I caught a fly")

1. Don't just stop with your kid at the club. Bring others too.

2. If they are siblings even better. Nothing beats 1 happy kid in the family and 1, 2, 3 miserable ones.

3. Best option is bring non relatives. This way it saves you money and you can eventually cut and run.

Method 3 Join the Marketing Firm of MFA (The easiest method, and one coming to the forefront.)

1. Make your kid(s) wear their MFA stuff EVERYWHERE. And take pictures. Take videos.

2. HASHTAG the heck out of it. Common ones which are somewhat lighthearted if not ironic are #matchfitfamily, and #matchfit4life

3. Ensure it has Nothing to do with soccer. Bonus points if you can get a team photo that includes cupcakes, ice cream, or watching another sporting event.

Rosters are up for MFA on ECNL website. Any dual carded surprises? Did everyone get what they want for Xmas.

So do the kids / MF parents already know their placement well before these rosters are published to the ECNL site or are they finding out around the same time as the general public?

Dom usually calls the kid/parents to a meeting and lets them know that it would be best if the kid plays on the second team.........Just kidding. They find out same time as general public

So, I’m confused about the mfa ecnl-r roster. My daughter played at mfa two years ago and I see some strong players are double carded for both teams since I see them on both rosters. There are some, I believe, weaker players only rostered on the ecnl team. I think it looks like they are trying to really boost the old npl team with these players helping out..,I can’t imagine these same players wouldn’t be playing in the ecnl games

Ohhhh. Check out 2005 & 2006 too. Some chosen ones are feeling the pain now too. Does 2004 still have a “special” team?

Most of existing 2008 was bumped down to ECRL as well.

In looking at 2007, they have a healthy ‘recruiting’ class, how many were told you are ECNL material only to find out this week they are now on the ECRL team. Way to go, MF.

1. better players realizing that training is not what MFA says it is and leaving for other programs.

DB is a cash cow for MFA brass. Not sure if they know about the extra $$$ that they make on the side that's not getting kicked up.
