The competition at GDA clubs is awful. US Soccer isn't even looking at player on GDA East Coast teams. Be honest with yourself

Agreed GDA on east coast is horrendous and on top of that the girls get punished by having to skip HS. Some of those “showcase” games were blowouts that embarrassed the so called DA quality product. Stick with ECNL if you want balanced quality competition and a league that is well run.

How is ECNL balanced competition? With clubs like MF, Bucks, Delco, and PDA white teams all belong in EDP. There is no balance. Some teams are really good and some are just awful. Just because MF is in ECNL does not make them a good club.

Agreed - the league/patch on the sleeve doesn’t mean a team is good. Both leagues have bad teams and good teams. And agree completely that bucks, delco, matchfit and PDA white are no better than most EDP teams and in fact are actually worse than some. But parents are blinded by the patch and the need to brag that their kid plays “ECNL” or “DA”. It’s all a money grab at this point and I’m not sure anyone has the kids best interest in mind. Youth sports is one gigantic business these days.

As long as parents are willing to write checks there will always be a league/team for your kid.

Good Lord please stop. I am sure you have the one player in NJ that is going to have a pro career. Seriously just stop. That line or argument was really annoying when ecnl blabebd on about it and it is just as bad coming from the gda marketing machine.

Sorry guys 4K/yr is very fair rate especially given the increased costs of living in NJ. Otherwise we would have no trainers here

They have girls DA. ECNL in a war with DA. Why would ECNL offer STA anything while they have a DA side?

Believe it. Not really sure what you're getting compared to other clubs. Top 1 or 2 girls will go to top D1 schools, the other 40+ will get no help from coaches.

And the silly parents got conned by ECNL into spending $40,000 plus over the four years of ages U15-U18, when the kids didn't need ECNL to play at the colleges they ended up. It’s actually amazing how many naive parents there are.

I think you misunderstand the youth sports market. These so called top teams are status symbols and activities for well off soccer crazy kids with some talent, drive and money.

Some will pursue college soccer and some will not. It is similar to dance or ballet or lax or piano or tennis or any number of youth activities.

ECNL fees going up because of new promotional activities.

Who do you think paid for the ICC tournament or the new ECNL camps, all star games etc. all paid for by the player fees.

They had best dial that back instead of increasing it. It pisses people off to pay for soccer for other kids while they are struggling to pay for their own players.
