I think about of people are also sour in 2013 age group because of the whole MFA select team selection. Not everyone from the Morris team made the blue team and many of the shore team girls did. Therefore their spot will be taken away pretty soon for the ECNL team. It’s frustrating for parents who bring their kid to MFA and trust in the process when in reality, they are not developing the kids at all. (I am sure mfa is not the only club to not develop and constantly replace) first and foremost it’s a business and money maker … I’m sure they are trying to develope the team but are always hoping to attract better talent which is why they want to play to win. It’s all about winning to attract the next best thing. It’s not truely on development. And parents for the most part don’t see it until it affects their child. There will always be better players out there. That’s why no one should go to these academies until they say they want to play in college and it’s the recruiting years…then go there for that reason alone. But don’t expect to grow more at MFA or pda over your local town team with a good trainer and good team.

The fact is every elite club is interested in recruiting better players and WINNING to remain relevant in soccer universe. No club thrives on the basis of “developing” players while losing games and being at the bottom of their league. PDA White and PDA South are often the butt of jokes bcos of their losing history - I don’t read people commending the club for putting “development” ahead of winning games.

Elite Soccer is highly competitive and WINNING is the simplest measurement to attract highly motivated players
