Too many ECRL teams

ECRL is not anything “special” anymore to attract players because there are soooo many ECRL teams now. Its a mix of a small amount high level EDP teams with all middle and low level EDP teams in a new league that’s supposed to be “elite” or “special”

the ecrl backlash and bashing is pretty funny. I never really understood it (because my kids club was one of the ne expansion clubs), until talking to another parent at a game that kids play at a higher level "town" team. They were pretty honest with the fact that everyone is really just upset because they felt like edp/usys nl was a really good platform that let players stay with their town club through hs and now that has all fallen apart, so if kids want to play at a relatively high level, its disrupting their lives because kids are moving to some of these clubs, competition has fallen apart and teams are falling apart. So many of them like coming on here and sling mud.

So all of this argument (like most things on this site) is all about the fact this has "ruined" a situation that worked for them because the teams their kids play on aren't included in the nal and ecrl club v club system. Old bridge, wall, freehold, deptford, vorhees, kearny, torpedoes all used to be places kids could stay. Central/shore and south jersey seem to have more of these town teams vs the north where most town teams dont even play edp, let alone usys.

They all like to point at copa and say "see - they are terrible." to be fair, you can point at the bottom part of most leagues and say the same thing. Campaigning on ts and railing against club v club isn't going to stop or slow the shift to this structure. Our club has never represented that ecrl is anything more than what it is. I do know that once teams leave edp at u12/u13, the drop off is now massive. Its an inconvenient truth for the town teams and clubs not yet in one of these platforms.

Second - Every other ECRL conference, except the NA and NE, has outside non-ECNL clubs in it as it was designed to be a feeder into ECNL but has been regressed due to ECNL preferring GA clubs.

ECRL should be scrapped across the country so DPL/USYS/EDP/NPL can just combine into the 3rd tier for ECNL and GA to pick over.

It's saying ecrl is garbage which we all knew.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL - RL was ECNLs way to fight against GDA and try to stockpile better then average clubs who might have the possibility to get into ECNL one day. RL conferences like the NA and NE didn't want to add anyone and then the next year GDA folded and GA was born and added every club that RL might have added. ECNL is club v club and will never add in a single team.

That RL is trash but since it is a parking spot and revenue generator for the clubs and league they aren't going to admit it or get rid of it.

RL teams provide players and parents options. The girls who don't make it on a NL team have the option between GA or RL. ECNL keeps the revenue which may have gone to GA.

Personally RL will be the 2nd best league in few more years. Over 30 clubs applied for ECNL from GA, many moved to RL. You can say there are many teams in a league, but those teams are very competitive. most are better than GA teams.

We were told by the club to refer it as ECNL-RL. ECRL is considered a foul acronym.
