Parents/Fans maintaing their side of the field?

Looking for opinions and I know they'll be juicy. What's everyone's take on where parents and fans should line up on the side line. I'm kind of agnostic on it, but I get both sides of the coin. Just stfu and enjoy the game.

After posting, I'm realizing an anonymous board does not allow one to vote.... Lame

        There is no "side".

My kid is a defender so I typically would stand in her general area. As far away as everyone else as possible while still being able to see.

Stay on your side of the field, at front of your bench, this rule is listed at many tournaments and leagues rule books. No parents from the other team need to see your face or hear your comments and rants.

Stay across from your team's bench. I've seen coaches get carded for not enforcing it. It doesn't take much to set off parents when they're mixed.

Thank you for your input. I got a ticket, and it was General Admission. I'll quietly stand where I wish.

Other than California parents, I've never seen it mentioned nor has it ever been a concern.

Only if you are surrounded by raging lunatics. Some old guy standing yards away from everyone else and barely saying a word is the least of the problems with youth soccer today.

Agreed. My son is a defender and I track with his side. Most parents stand where their team is on offense, so that does lead to more mixing with the other team's parents. But, that's often a breath of fresh air from the same old team parents!

Plus, life is too short and this soccer stuff won't last forever, might as well enjoy your kid's time.

Stay on your side of field ,no one needs you mixing with the other teams parents. You can se your kid on field from both sides.

Thanks, but no thanks. I'll just stand in a free public place and avoid the youth soccer mobs at all cost.

Its funny that there's really so many sides(pun intended) to this. There are parents regardless of where they stand, are there to legitimately just cheer for their kids. They do not even see or hear anyone else around them. Then there's also parents who are legitimately actively trying to be louder and more obnoxious than the parents around them, while standing on the opponents side. With everyone's kids involved a simple 'ohhhhhh' from a foul turns into "RELAX GUY" and needless back and forth. Just easier from my experience to stay on my side of the field. Hell I dont even like going near midfield.

Not sure about other leagues but ECNL parents, at least the top clubs are following the "across your bench rule, don't mix with other parents" .

Seen it an actual thing, once at a GDA event years ago. Never in an ECNL game, Showcase, tourney, etc.

Really think some of you just looks for things to knot your panties every day.

This isn't a European league where have a packed stadium filled with drunks so you need to section off "away sections".
