My daughter is currently a top half ECNL level player but I’ve come to the realization that for the majority of families there really isn’t a good end game with all of this. This seems like a big waste of resources when I take my daughter’s passion out of this equation. My wife and I are looking forward to high school when it’s only one season of the nonsense that is club soccer.

Youth soccer participation is down and now nearly half of men’s D1 soccer players are foreign born , bc there is now a league in US where guys can make a few bucks and they are superior to the HS age players coming out of these clubs . As soon as the NWSL salaries exceed more than an average of 60k a year women’s will be in the same boat . Women players out of South America and African countries ecspecially bc athletically they can compete wt the bigger , faster American women
