Right, so why would MLS Next be less affected by the change? All biobands are not trapped and all trapped kids aren’t eligible to bioband.

Nov 22 is the big vote. I hope they change it away from birth year. It will be much better for the younger kids in the roster to play with their grade. Hey if they are good enough to continue playing up then they can do it. But none have the option to play down. So this will help many kids with late birthdays.

MLSn programs WILL be affected. Some have massive player pools with lots of kids rostered with both MLSn plus USYS leagues. Kids are rostered week to week - if a kid doesn't make the MLSn roster on a given week then they play in an NAL match or a USYS match in for example an E64 league. Multiple leagues with different cutoff dates will create chaos.

Not saying you are wrong, but how do you know this? Why wouldn't MLS and nam go along to keep everything uniform?

In more cases this time an underrepresented group is moving down ~3 months rather than an overrepresented group moving up ~9 months. The people who will go the craziest are the ones who move down from an A team to B team. It will be hard to feel too badly for them given that means their spot on A team was dependent on the luck of having an older birthday and they didn't do more to capitalize on that advantage during the time they had it.
For example, if there is a trapped 09 at MF, they have to either go practice in Denville or drop down to MFS RL team?

None of this matter for older ages. Once they stop growing they can either ball or they can’t. This will impact u littles when growth is a major factor, other than that teams will likely remain at a similar level assuming decent depth in the programs.

School year being phased in. Year 1 Only 8u to 14u impacted initially. 15u and above will remain the same with a transition over 3-5 year period. Year 2 it’s 8u to 15u. 16-19 not impacted.
So basically the young ones will have initial changes but the older groups will remain the same until they age out. It’s a recipe for disaster if you start moving older age groups around. Those teams are set and it will cause players to quit the game. HS aren’t switching teams.
