I know our school doesn’t not only any clue how to coach but doesn’t even have a clue how to build team culture

Have the team build their own culture. Seniors can. Easily guide and lead the team. Little things done within the team can make lasting memories along with dramatic change in team chemistry and culture.

some of this is true but to be fair not all. Like everything in life it varies. Daughter plays at an “elite” club and is having an awesome time and to be fair seems to be having more fun with her classmates. It’s not that serious.

A side note our coach was a former division 1 player who clearly knows the game. Not sure if that helps but just saying.

Coach should still be part of building team culture the players need to believe that he cares and believes in each one it’s not about the sport only it can be life lessons has well

Ask the coaches if it’s not serious. It’s all about the Ws. That mindset carries over to the players and culture. Not serious is not true. Very cut throat while risking player safety given the lack of time to rest.

According to nj.com there a large group of u beaten teams in HS girls soccer. RP and DePaul are on a crash course again for a state final. Mountain lakes looks to repeat as state champions as well. MSD look to be a shoe in for non public A final. Some group 4 schools are looking good too.

It would be great if our school team had seniors who would build a positive culture, but that is not the case. If partying and drinking counts as a positive way to build chemistry then I stand corrected. The coach should be fostering a positive and supportive environment, but he can’t see his way around favoritism over skill. I’m not even talking about my own kid, but I see talented girls sitting on the bench more than they should be and below average players dominating game time. It’s a completely flawed program.

I get that some schools have excellent programs and qualified coaching. It is just not the same throughout the state.

Sorry to hear that. I would say partying and drinking is not the culture of any successful or even positive team. I hope your D finds some positive players to enjoy her season with and I wish her success.

Parents buy the alcohol for the kids. The players have ragers in the basement. So much for private schools. My D is leaving
