Club soccer is a business and we are the customers. If a customer is not happy or they feel they can get better business elsewhere then there is nothing wrong with moving. The club may not like it, team mates may not like it, other parents may not like it, but you got to do what best for You.

Why should they, and what is really the damage? It's just youth soccer not a professional team.

We are planning on leaving our current club but are holding off on actually moving until this age cutoff situation is sorted. My child isn’t directly impacted by the change but if it is in fact changing all teams will be in flux and it may not make sense to make a move right now. Better wait till next year when things will be in flux for most clubs.

I think you put too much into the whole TEAM thing. No child or parent has any obligation to any player, or coach, or club. Its just silly for you to think that a kid has to stay somewhere to keep others happy. Usually its the kids on a team that make a kid want to leave

My kid moved after the fall season. Wasn't any sort of a toxic situation, coach was fine, but the team and competition wasn't right for them. They started to dread practice and sometimes even games. No regrets with the move. Too much can happen after when you have to make decisions in the Spring. All of that happens way too early. The club got all of the money I promised them. The other players got my kid's minutes. My kid got a better situation and the right level training and competition and went back to loving soccer. The only really bitter part of leaving were the parents that lived and died with every win and loss. Everyone else was better off.
