    High School Soccer

Is it really a big deal if a player makes varsity as a freshman? Wouldn’t it be better to be a transition or swing player, that practices with varsity and then excels at the JV level?

It depends on the school and the league. Some schools dont even let Freshman play varsity. Sometimes the competition on JV is REALLY bad. Most of the time if a Freshman or even a sophomore isnt getting enough minutes on Varsity, they'll have them play some JV games.

Mostly depends on the size of the school. Small schools it's not unusual to have freshman on Varsity. Large schools it's a bigger deal.

High school soccer lets some girls at small schools become the superstars they’ll never be on their club teams.

Wow the hate towards another kid on your son/daughter's club. This reeks of jealousy, can't just be happy for any one else's accolades, whether in HS or at your club. This is a Toxic parent.

Every kid that plays at a top club should be a HS "superstar" no matter which school they go to, minus a couple of HS. (less then 5 and those are mostly private/prep) Someone's kid is not getting any attention at the HS level but is apparently on the USNT.

Correct this is the toxic parent on the sidelines talking about how every kid stinks and their kid should be playing and getting the recognition.

HS Varsity is horse **** and the JV is full of players who couldn't make the field hockey team. If you are looking at development at HS then just don't worry about your Ds soccer future.
