So hard to tell. Kids who are studs young…stand out players, could maintain. But some are late bloomers and developers. So much can happen. Especially girls.

Conversely a few if the scrubs became studs by 15.
Never discount puberty .

I Agree with the late bloomer point and coaching / work ethic stuff. No one knows.. but I disagree with using people’s college choices to prove a point.

Regarding the late bloomers, in may respects, they have a much better chance of becoming studs. In those middle school years when their peers go through growth spurts, they get used to playing against bigger/faster/stronger players...and the ones who stick with it develop more skills and creativity to be able to compete with those bigger/faster/stronger kids...so by the time they do go through their growth spurt, they are on the whole more skilled players that finally are able to play with the same size/speed/strength.

I was amazed at the skill level of some kids when my D first stepped into a good program. Having played
the game my entire life I mused there were kids with better skills than I had. It was true. Some really good players. One is excelling at a D1 school. One never grew and by HS she got swallowed up. One leveled off and concentrated on skiing.
Bodies change. Interests change.
What I won’t do is tell someone their experiences are right or wrong. You do you.

She currently plays at SJEB 2011, and they are probably the best 2011 team on the east coast. Yup, my d helped get them there. She already had a offer for the USYNT playing up 3 years but we turned it down.
