There is a weird dynamic in youth soccer , coaches make fun of parents behind their back and don’t give a crap about the kids and parents know it but there is a marketing tool where parents think if their kid wants to be good they need their silly leagues . First off whether it’s encl, ga or any of the scams it doesn’t matter the best players get ahead and the weaker ones don’t just a fact , college coaches chase studs and the rest is filler players some they take for a favor to a club or friend , leagues don’t matter if your really good and second what’s the end game , folks there’s no money in girls soccer ! This makes for the odd parent /coach / club dynamic , it’s all built on BS and no substance

I don't agree with that. We had a kid at our local club that was probably the best I've ever seen, and I have friemds whose kids play on blue. This girl played local clubs all her life, and was constantly getting writeups in the papers, prepsoccer, soccerwire, etc, but she didn't play in the ecnl or ga. She would do showcases with her team, but mostly at Tuckahoe. Long story short, her recruitment year came and went, and she finally got a commitment in her senior year to a d3. Her parents now say they wish they would have put her on a ecnl team so she could have gotten more exposure.

I hear the scouts love to watch kids dribble around garbage cans and do footwork moves on IG. That’s all the exposure you need! Parents have this all figured out.
