I’ve been hearing that also. But not a fan of this because what if the kid is left back? There should be a cut off and graduation year. That way parents don’t leave their kids behind like they do in basketball for the advantage

There will still be a date cutoff to prevent cheating, it will just be August 1 instead of Jan 1.

The president and leadership at the ECNL have stated that they would like to go back to school year instead of the current birth year. I think a lot of parents would welcome this switch. They know they can’t do it for this fall but it sounds like they will be making a strong push to make the change for the fall of 2025. This would be very impactful to a lot of kids but especially impactful for the trapped or soon to be trapped

This doesn’t align with the rest of the world number 1. The ECNL president didn’t say this . It was quoted and an ECNL director but no name. And until USSF wants this to happen then it is not happening .
