PDA Blue 2009 ECNL social media pages announced that, as the 2023 ECNL National Champions, they have been invited to represent the USA in the 2024 @Nike Premier Cup. They will be competing against representative teams from Australia, Japan, Mexico, England, ltaly, Ghana/ Denmark, Spain, Germany, Sweden, Brazil, and South Korea. After winning a National Championship in the States, it's time to test their skills on the global stage. They head to Nike Headquarters in Portland, Oregon tomorrow to begin this adventure!

Lol, what a joke. There are much better teams in this area that should have gotten this opportunity. I guess it's true what they say, money buys you anything, even when talent doesn't exist. Everyone knows NJ Blaze has the best 09 team in the state. They just don't need to buy championships.

A PDA parent I know said Nike is paying all expenses and is outfitting the players with new cleats and kits for the event.

Nike has been putting this tournament on for 25+ years. It is cool to be invited but let’s be clear… this tournament is for Nike clubs only. Having worked at Nike in the past, they select the rising GU16 team at the biggest club that is in the final year of their Nike contract. That is how the each country’s representative is selected.
This is solely a business decision for Nike and has nothing to do with this team’s past success. That being said, it is amazing for all the players that get to go because they really do get spoiled, and the soccer is pretty decent.
