I have been with my kids. I will say that it’s a great way for your kids to understand how to play the game the right way. We can’t get out of the group stage at cops for a reason. Every European club my kids played rarely played long balls and routinely recycled balls back to the keeper. I never saw kids trying to dribble through 4 players across the middle of the field. It was eye opening for them and for me. We try to out athlete everyone and soccer isn’t a game where that’s required to win. Sadly, we won’t fix the training methods to play the right way because we aren’t worried about wining a u7 “championship”. While I agree, athletically there are better athletes in the us, your kids will get a lot out of seeing and playing against more tactically and fundamentally advanced opponents

If you can afford it, this is a nice vacation. Sweden is a beautiful country. The level of soccer is very hit or miss and don't be fooled into thinking you are facing any top teams. There is no qualification so some are good teams, lots of just a bunch of average ability wealthy kids and a few are really bad. To those saying the ECNL playoffs are better, of course they are, but we don't all have kids at that level. We can't just choose and plan to play in National playoffs so this can be a nice chance to have a vacation and play some soccer against not the same old teams.

This is exactly why we can’t get better. There’s a process to everything you do in life. You don’t wake up at la masia. Understanding the us style of play is terrible takes more than just saying it. You have to see it and play against to learn a different way. But let’s all just play mlsn long balls and continue to think that will work. Most people are too broken to realize what we do in the us is wrong, open your eyes see what works and learn from that.

ODP and Gothia are as big as a money grab as you can get in Youth Soccer. Say yes and pay, and you are in. Save the money for college tuition, trust me. You are going to need it.

On Wednesday team Nike from nj14 will play a team that has lost by a minimum of 10 goals in there first 2 games. $10 thousand for rec soccer is money well spent.

Exactly, NJ14 plays in EDP tier 2, go have fun, but please don’t think this means anything from a competitive standpoint.

Not sure what a nj14 is but the teams my kid has been playing on the boys side are as good, or in some cases way better than mlsn teams. And im a little surprised seeing all the negative comments about it. Most mlsn teams would get crushed. No cap

The boys side of the tournament has always been competitive, it's the girls side that is widely inconsistent. Scores of 8-1, 10-0, 5-0, etc.....
