NY City is Dec 31st, the rest of the state is Dec 1st. Yes, I realize that means Nov 30th for rest of state if saying Dec 31st, but the state likes to list as Dec 31st in NYC and Dec 1st for statewide for some odd reason.

what's the point in making the change when neighboring states with lots of player crossover for example have different school cutoff dates (NY Dec 31 versus NJ Oct 1)? seems like sticking with calendar year rule for club is the cleanest way to go

Changes are made nationally, not by state.

its not one guy. This either REALLY affects your kid(s) or not at all. If it does affect your kid or if you are a club director and have to deal with it with multiple age groups ever year, you actually care about it being fixed

based on what? This would likely boost participation / reduce fallout both at U-littles and in 8th and 11th/12 grades. You have one year of disruption that might affect 15-20% of most teams possibly shifting age groups and/or clubs, then you have largely fixed the problem. If you say no trapped problem exists, then there wouldnt be ANY affect.

Nothing is changing. Did you even listen to the Podcasts and hear all their follow ups? It was a hypothecial talk about 5-10 years from now. They discussed multiple different age cutoffs, bio-banding, multi-year age grouping, co-ed leagues and many other ideas that they said come up annually.

The twitter account said the announcement wasn’t coming until next year.
